I installed 3603 on my Z690 board (which is the Z690 equivalent) using a 12900k and only had one option for "Intel Default Settings". Luckily it set PL1=PL2=241W which the 12900k doesn't really ever hit at stock, and also changed a bunch of voltage settings.

Accidentally posted twice. Sorry.

I have now switched to the current UEFI 2301 on my Asus Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WIFI.
Previous UEFI 2202:
here the following settings were set by me:
-Ai Overclock Tuner (for RAM): "XMP" active (5600MHz)
-Asus Multicore Enhancement: "Disabled - Force all Limits", set PL1 + PL2: 253 W
The remaining settings remained on "Auto" or "Defaults", which set the following:
-CPU Load-Line Calibration: "Auto" (current CPU Load-Line-Calibration = Level 3)
-Sync ACDC Loadline with VRM Loadline: "Disabled"
-Unlimited ICCMAX: "Auto"
-CPU Core/Cache Current Limit Max.: "Auto" (current CPU Core/Cache Current Limit = 280A)
-IA CEP: "Auto" (IA Current Excursion Protection (CEP): disabled)
-SA CEP: "Auto" (IA Current Excursion Protection (CEP): disabled)
-IA TDC Current limit: "Auto"
Hardware forecast: SP 86 / cooler: 169 pts (see screenshot):
In CinebenchR23 the CPU went into thermal throttling (100 degrees) within 1 minute, but only in Cinebench.
In normal office use the CPU remained at a cool 33 - 38 degrees (room temperature: approx. 21 - 23 degrees) cooled with an AiO 360 (see signature).
Now the change to UEFI 2023 and automatic BIOS reset:
Default settings after update:
-Asus Multicore Enhancement: "Disabled - Force all Limits"
-PL1 + PL2 = 253 W
-CPU Load-Line Calibration: "Recommended for OC" (current CPU Load-Line-Calibration = Level 4)
-Sync ACDC Loadline with VRM Loadline: "enabled"
-unlimited ICCMAX: "Auto"
-CPU Core/Cache Current Limit Max.: "Auto" (current CPU Core/Cache Current Limit = 307A)
-IA CEP: "Auto" (IA Current Excursion Protection (CEP): enabled)
-SA CEP: "Auto" (IA Current Excursion Protection (CEP): enabled)
-IA TDC Current Limit: "Motherboard's Capability"
additionally activated by me:
-Ai Overclock Tuner (for RAM): "XMP" active (5600MHz)
The Asus Hardware forecast: SP 86 / cooler: 157 pts !!! (see screenshot):
Stress test with CPU_Z (approx. 5 min.): CPU up to 96 degrees warm (monitored with HwInfo)
I subsequently changed:
-CPU Load-Line Calibration: "Auto" (current CPU Load-Line-Calibration = Level 3)
-IA TDC Current Limit: "Intel's Default"
Another stress test with CPU_Z (approx. 5 min.): CPU up to 71 degrees warm (monitored with HwInfo)
Cinebench R23: max. 77 degrees (after 10 min.)
The new UEFI is fine for me, but it would be great if you automatically set Intel Defaults so that IA TDC Current Limit is also set to "Intel's Defaults", just as CPU Load-Line Calibration is set to "Auto".
This helps laypeople more, because otherwise you have to first navigate through the UEFI to set the appropriate settings (if you know them).
I also only have the following settings in "Ai Tweaker" -> "Performance Preferences" (see screenshot):
- Intel Default Settings
- ASUS Advanced OC Profile
I also cannot see a selection of Intel profiles "Performance" or "Extreme":
This may be because I use an i7-13700K and the profiles mentioned are reserved for the i9s of the 13th and 14th generation.

2301 fixed two specific problems I was having and hasn’t added any new ones.
Problem 1: 3d Print Slicing. Program, and sometimes the PC, would crash while slicing complex models. CPU would hit 100% usage and then immediately crash.
Problem 2: Crusader Kings 3 Crashes. After a fair amount of progress in the game, the game would crash in 20-30 minute intervals without warning.
I don’t have theses problems anymore. Not even whispers.

Good to know 👍

i try this bios right now at is really bad both intel profile is bad the Vcore easy reach +1.5v and if u use asus OS still ur Vcore is high around 1.47v the old bios 100time's better

Check your VID table, you're sending out conflating statements by saying "It's really bad". Intel programmes the VID from factory. Some CPUs can run a less aggressive LL, if you were stable without the Intel-defined profiles there's no need to be concerned with running them.

with intel profile u can't change anything just a XMP not sure why

Intel itself does not yet provide the two profiles "Performance" and "Extreme" for i7-13700K / KF (see screenshot).
Only "Performance" is specified. This is why Asus has not included this in the update for this CPU.
This is why this selection is currently only available for I9s of the 13th and 14th generation.

From the table, I don't understand why baseline profiles are not recommended. They are the least aggressive with the lowest power limits. I could understand why Extreme would not be recommended, but that's not the case?
