New Intel default settings for BIOS, good or not?

Ah, frankly, I'm confused. I have the previous BIOS. Since my processor overheated there, I bought a good air cooling instead of liquid cooling, but it was not enough. Should the latest bios update be done or should I continue with the old intel baseline profile? Thank you note: processor (13600k)

Hi @wgaijin

Which are you currently running? If you weren't experiencing instability, there's not any real need to update. I would wait till the new BIOS drops with the microcode updates from Intel that address some issues with ETVB.

Ah, I think I won't tinker with it any further. When a really good update comes, I will open a topic here again and share it with you. I think there is not much difference between the baseline profile and the default profile.

The performance advantage comes with high current workloads mostly, such as rendering and video encoding. Gaming will see a much smaller deficit.

I hope the next bios will solve the problem. I don't want to use the power of my processor at low speed. Maybe there is a 10% loss, yes, but this is still not fair.

I was doing fine with a bios of december, january maybe... And updated to xx58 and boom mr freeze is in the house...

Gonna check the bios history, but how its possible not to be patched correctly, anyway theres nothing more but wait

Another thing, does anybody knows why the red light gets on when i start a match on battlefield v, 2042, doom eternal, then it crashes...

Im using 48gb ram ddr5 7200mhz xmp rtx4060, 14700k had no problems before the bios update

I will take the advice of dont touch nothing if it is fine.

Which board?

Check CPU temps, and disable XMP. See if crashing persists.

Following Intel's updated guidelines leads to higher core voltages, especially under load, than users are accustomed to seeing. Previously, motherboard manufacturers set the LLC lower than Intel's recommendations to achieve lower temperatures while maintaining high performance.

temperatures where always fine like 35 to 45 when idle...65 to 75 while gaming...

its the BIOS, they arent optimized correctly...I have heard that intel its planning to launch an important fix july 19 or so...stay tunned

The temperature increase is due to meeting Intel's guidelines to follow closely to their specification. Not sure what future fix you're speaking of.

man, i dont have time right now to show to link, but i was requiring assitance on microsof forums too, and I was reading about a problem that raised the temperatures will be trying to be fixed, not from root, but they try...well at least its a star...ill send you the link later....

and for the xmp profile...man i only check it was on the QVL list of the motherboard before buying it...i havent do the manual tweaking, because it always run flawless at the speed, when I installed,, i thought the technician who sembled the pc would told me anything, but he says everything was OK, and it did...

I tried to run this ram at 7800 which is the maximun speed for the mobo, and the system didint start nor 7400 or 7600, one day when I require that speed I will tweak it

other thing this combo rog strix b760a gaming 14700k rtx4060 gskill trident 48gb ram ddr5 7200mhz works fine with both version 1641 and 1645   ... xx50 and above gave me game crashes

also i runned cimebench with no problems on multicore and gave me above 30000 points
