New BIOS: Z690 BIOS 3501

I haven't installed it yet, I think it's aimed at 14000K cpus

I'm on 12th Gen and I was aware that it would probably do nothing for me, but I installed it last night anyway. My VCore max is slightly higher - now up to 1.327V but not crazy over the top. Most of the time it hovers around a lot lower, that's just the max value. The highest I ever saw before (not that I was really checking properly, was 1.296V). As before, apart from GNA being enabled, XMP on, lowered PCH voltages and DTT on, everything is at defaults.  My R23 score is the same as before, as are temps and CPU power draw, so no other obvious differences. All seems stable so far.

John, thanks for being one of the 1st to test 3501. 

My current Vcore on BIOS 3401 is averaging around 1.3V idle.  Which is higher than your old Vcore, but then my rig is OC'd to 5300.

Since you haven't had any problems, I'm going to try out 3501 tomorrow when I have the time.

I just downloaded this, but I'm gonna hold off on installing it on my Z690-F & 12700KF. 

I've read that some people had some difficulties with the Intel Baseline Profile option on the Z790 motherboards with the 13 & 14 gen CPUs.

So far, my mobo and CPU have had no problems with any of the BIOS updates and I'd hate to break a perfect track record.

Turns out I had time today to install 3501, and it's working fine for me too - speeds, temps, etc.  And the Vcore average is the same as before: ~1.34V - taken from HWiNFO64.   So I'm a happy camper!  😎

I'm guessing the IBF has no effect on gen 12 CPUs.

The odd thing is that there is supposed to be a 'baseline profile option'. In the BIOS I've searched for baseline, profile, base, line and intel. 

No option that I can find. Hmmm.

Yeah, I also looked for it yesterday and couldn't find it either.   Seems like it only gets enabled for 13 & 14 gen CPUs.

I'm curious to find out if anyone with a 13 or 14 gen on a Z690 get those menus... 

Does anyone with that config care to chime in about it?

I couldn't find it by using the search function, but it is there for me (13th gen).

Advanced Mode: AI Tweaker > Intel Baseline Profile

Selecting it produces a pop-up stating that it will reset values to the Intel recommendations which may reduced performance. I cancelled out as I have already hand tuned my power limits.

But perhaps the option is hidden if you don't have an applicable CPU.

Yes, I think that's right, like Rooke suggested as well. I will check again later, but I think that's the answer, thanks. 

EDIT: I was totally wrong, the option is there for my 12900K. It's near the top of the screen under Extreme Tweaker, I think that might be why I missed it. I was probably scrolling down too far and just didn't see it. Strange but true!

I had a number of problems with BIOS 3101, especially with the Razer Mouse which failed to be detected occasionally (had to disable the driver and use the generic driver for it to work). Some other issues were with the USB headphone with a lot of "static".

Was hesitant to upgrade to BIOS 3501, but decided to do it anyway to see if it will help to resolve these issues. Updated it successfully, and keeping my fingers crossed. No issue encountered thus far. The Razer Mouse seems to be back to normal. Will be testing the other USB devices soon.
