I’m wondering if running such a low AC LL of .05 might cause instability in the GSkill 8400 kit I’m going to test based on your concerns over memory integrity with such a low AC LL level. I guess adjusting the LL in the opposite direction might alleviate that??

Personally I have never had any issues with memory instability related to running a low AC_LL.

You can test this by loading default settings, and applying your memory profile then run TM5 for 25-cycles, if no errors then save memory profile, and load that memory profile on your tuned load line default settings profile and run TM5,.. most likly you will get the same results 25-cycles, no errors.

I have tested this on 8000, 8200, and 8400MTs,.. running lower AC_LL has no effect on my IMC if the profile is TM5 25-cycles stable in default settings, then it's 25-cycles stable with tuned load lines, or low AC_LL on my system.

When you get your 8400 kit, load default settings and try XMP 1, everything in Auto. If you pass TM5 25-cycles then you have a strong IMC, and you should be fine adjusting, running 8400CL36 tuned profile regardless of your Load Line, AC_LL  configuration.

8200 XMP1 default settings, everything in Auto.

8200CL36 this is my daily profile with low AC_LL.

Fantastic! Sounds great. Thanks for the reassurance on that one. Appreciate your help!! 🙂

Well, never could get this GSKill 8400 kit stable with the prior K chip. Looks like this KS is a winner. More testing needed of course, but I never could get more than a minute of ramtest before it errored. This KS chip is much better. IMC must be quite strong. Thinking of tightening the timings soon. This is just default settings for this kit:

It "might". Have you tested it yet? I mean 8400 XMP probably isn't going to happen, who knows though I have seen stranger things lol. If I missed it, why LLC6?

You don't really want to increase AC_LL (stock is 0.55 for the 14900K) UNLESS you're tuning your VF_Curve to provide your undervolt. Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge there isn't really a guide written. Veii over at HWLuxx in the DDR5 thread has quite a few tips and such helping out others/answering questions but it would take digesting those and kind of figuring it out on your own.

But I am not at stock setting. It’s at 0.05 currently. I never could get it to crash as it was lowered. And I am due to try this 8400 kit soon. Lots of testing to do while juggling work. I’ll try to update as time allows.

LLC 6 based on the guide that was provided and prior experience with that setting. You can choose any LLC setting you want minus 7 and 8 to calibrate the LL. Thanks!

Follow up to my post. Here’s the guide previously posted by Braeg. Lot to digest though. Takes some time.

I have TVB enabled, but I only see 6.4 on two cores. What do you have enabled otherwise? AI Overclock?

OK, click the TVB OC +1 boost and see if you get 6.3Ghz ALL 8Pcores. 😊

Going house hunting for 2weeks, check back in April - Good Luck with your 14KS - looks very sharp brother. 😃

Thanks. I’ll play with it over the next few weeks and see what happens. It is not completely stable currently as expected.
