Hi I’m new to building pc and this is my first I have is a intel i5 12600k, Asus Strix B660 a gaming wifi D4, corsair vengeance pro 16gb, Samsung 970 evo plus  1tb, lian li sp750w sfx, NZXT kraken x53 and Nvidia RTX 3080 FE. The issue is the vga led keeps turning on and off like sometime when I turn on pc the vga led is on or off, but when it is on the pc is running and working fine play games fine also. i had to restart pc for to turn off the vga led. So I tried everything, check cables, reseating gpu, cleaning nothing i asked Nvidia they said could be motherboard since the gpu working fine, Then I ask two Asus agent from text support one said the motherboard and gpu are not compatible and the other said they are compatible even on their website and other said they're compatible anyways the agent said to take out mobo battery which I did still turns on and take out gpu and led on still also. This been happen few months back pc is not even a year old yet and that where I'm left and the agent gave me those tsd feedback form, they said to get a new gpu or new motherboard. anyone had this Vga led on and restart pc to turn it off, bc if you do give me some help or advice. Thank you

My comments relate to the GPU LED, not the motherboard VGA light - my mistake, sorry. I have no knowledge of why the motherboard LED would be flashing:

As far as I know, the red LED on your GPU is often used to indicate when the GPU is powered off, or, it can be used to indicate a power problem. Do you have the power leads connected correctly. I don't know your card exactly but you would normally use at least two of the power leads from the PSU which are then combined with an adapter before plugging that into the GPU. Just check the GPU manual and look at the recommended way to connect power.

The only other thing I can think of is that the card is not seated properly. Try removing it, look for any dirt or dust on the connectors/socket and then put back in. Make sure it is fully seated and finally check for any sagging of the card. If not straight and level, find a way to support it. You might even have a Nvidia support bracket in the box.

Well I check the connectors they're good also reseated them already like two times also cleaned it before putting it back in still turns on sadly should I get a vertical mounting bracket

I don't think a vertical mount will solve the problem, so I'd say get one, but only if you fancy one anyway. Don't get a cheap one, they can be tricky if you buy cheap.

The only other thing I've thought of is to run the machine without the GPU and see if the light still flashes. You could also see if there is a GPU firmware update. I assume that all of your drivers are up to date?

I did run the pc without the gpu but the vga led still turns also I'm a little bit confused you said getting a vertical mount won't solve the issue but get one anyways.

I just meant get one if you want the look of having your GPU mounted vertically, but I doubt if it will solve the issue. That's all I meant...

Hey I've seem to have found the issue i think but I'm going to have to check in the morning if still happens so I saw a different forum on a different website when someone mention same issue as me. but said he used hdmi cable when started using DisplayPort for this new build he did and the vga led turned on for him every time he use pc just like everything works fine, play games fine no issue, then he figure the problem by switching back to HDMI again and the white led goes away. so I gave it shot and did the same thing plugged it in and shut down pc and start it up again and boom vga led gone but I'm going to check on the pc later if it doesn't turn on its the cable issue for the monitor.

Is it working now OK? I hadn't considered the cable, could be as simple as that. Many cables are built to different quality standards, I wonder if the motherboard hardware could be detecting signal interference?

its working good the vga led finally turned off after switching cables but i wanna use the displayport cable bc its better than hdmi right.
