Hi all
I bought 32Gb of memory 2x16Gb reference CMK32GX5M2B6400C32 from Corsair. That reference is in the QVL list. I can't boot and Q CODE error is 53 (memory init error, invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed).
Does anybody can help me or do i contact asus support?
Thanks for your help
François

Hi @francoistoen
Have you considered reseating the CPU? Improper DIMM detection or Q-CODE 55 can be the result of improper pin-pad contact. You may be conflating two different issues here.

Hi @francoistoen you did not mention your CPU. Can you please share the exact model number of your CPU?
According to QVL (see below), this module is only compatible with 12th Gen CPU. If you use the dropdown to select a 13th or 14th Gen CPU, this module is not listed.

Hi @achugh
I checked and that memory reference is in the QVL list for 14th gen. See picture

See my post. The QVL is not of relevance to your problem as you're unable to run the memory at stock.

Hi
You're right, i have a 14th gen CPU (core i9-14900KF) and I 've never seen that we can select which CPU is used. I used to build asus motherboard PC for long time (my fist was with Rampage II). So I will look at the QVL with the good CPU choice. Thanks for your advice that is very important.

ASUS likely haven't updated the QVL, doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work on a newer gen CPU.
Have you tried XMP II?
Set XMP II and set DRAM Frequency manually to 6000MT.

Thanks for your reply. I can't change settings in UEFI because the motherboard does not start : Q CODE 53.

If the system doesn't pass Q-CODE 53 even after clearing the CMOS, could you confirm if Q-Code 53 appeared after any specific hardware changes? i.e were you using a different kit before?
Try inserting one memory module into slot A2 and see if the issue persists.
Whilst the QVL for the 14th Gen CPUs likely needs updating, the system should ideally be able to pass at Optimised Defaults (before XMP overclocking is applied).
If you're in the return period for your memory kit, as suggested it may be worth returning for one that is present on the 14th gen list.

Long story .I have built the system at the beginning of june with those componants :
Motherboard : ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
CPU : Intel Core i9-14900KF
RAM : Corsair Kit 2x16Gb ref CMK32GX5M2D6000C36
Graphics : Radeon RX 5700 XT
When i first started I received Q CODE 55 (Memory not Installed), so i let only one memory in slot A2 and the startup was OK with only one memory instead of two. Then I went into UEFI to see if it was possible to use XMP, and I don't find XMP 1 or 2 but DOCP 1 or 2. I test with DOCP 1 and reach the frequency of 6000Mhz. So I thinked tha my kit have one piece broken. So I changed the piece of memory and it was ok, so only one memory was ok but not the complete kit. Then I looked on the Internet to see what was the meaning of DOCP. And DOCP is the same as XMP but for AMD. Following this statement i look at my memory kit and noticed that in fact what was delivered was not CMK32GX5M2D6000C36 but CMK32GX5M2D6000Z36 which is made for AMD processor. SO I decied to buy a new set of memory looking th QVL list but I did not choose the right CPU and the memory was in fact on QVL list fot 12th gen CPU. With this new kit the moterboard never started (1 piec, 2 piece change slot etc...) the Q CODE is 53 (Memory initialization error, invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed).
Now I have to buy a new kit in QVL list for 14th gen CPU.
Thanks for your help.
