So I had updated the ME FW to …2124 before updating to bios 0904 as recommended but now FW …2020 is posted again on 4/18 with the latest 4/17. Is anyone monitoring this? So confusing.

Suggest you stick with 2124 - it's been absolutely fine for me on 690 and I've not heard about any issues. I think there is simply an error on your support pages, I've seen similar issues with drivers on the 690 Hero pages in the past.

Use the 2124 with 0904 Bios. No issues and everything works fire with Hero Z790. And yes i don't understand why they add again the 2020 one day after 2124...its ultra confusing. By the way as you have also Z790 did you install the latest chipset IME ( V2251.4.2.0) ? I dont want to risk again as the previous time i couldn't boot to windows

Yes, I had no intention of changing after installing 2124 and bios 0904. I just think somebody screwed up. And yes, I did install the new ME driver too.

Hopper, I'll be relying on you to lead me in the right direction when ever I can get my Mits on a board. Seems there out of stock everywhere.
Thanks bro.

Finally able to post again. You won’t be disappointed with the board. Working great here.

yeah I purchased the mobo yesterday. Luckily at MSRP. The scalpers are asking insane prices on them.

Hopper I have a question. I'm going to transfer my Samsung 980 M2 drive to the new board. it should boot to windows enough for me to install the MEI , ME drivers right? it's base bios is 0703 so I should be okay on the 13900KS. Then I can update Bios and all the other drivers, correct?
Ps. Also since the samsung M2 already have heat sinks on them. do we still need to apply the thermal padding on them?

Hopper, how did the 2020 firmware work for you? Did you have any issues with it?
FireRx, when I got the Apex Z790, it worked out of the box, so you can actually update the bios first and do the rest (but it's better to follow ASUS's guidelines). And yes, I was able to boot just fine to my old Windows installation, then I performed a clean install. Apparently, NVME issues were only encountered on Z690 boards with an old firmware.
