Just wnt to share my experience resolve issue with random window shutdown

Warning Long story...

My Z790 Hero with delid 13900K Windows 11 was stable with 1501.  About 3 days ago, all sudden windows 11 would crash and reboot.   It was just idle.  Sometimes i was just watching video..  I thought maybe, it was bios.  So downgrade to 1402, down to 1302.  Still crashing.   So i decide to check my LM in 13900K. Reapply..  😞 Nope still crashing.   Check all the CPU and Socket pin.  All look good.  No LM spill out anywhere.    Tried to reinsert Memory.    In event manager, it just has critical error.  Kernel loss power.   So i have a spare PSU around, change to a new PSU.     Still Experience random crash.   I remember about 1 years ago, when my son's ITX build was having a similar issue.  It turns out to be a bad Graphic card.  So i swap out to a diff 12vhpwr.  Didnt help.  Still getting random crash.

Finally, i remember for my EVGA 3090ti, i have apply 4985 XOC V2 bios.  Before giving up and start buying diff parts to fix, i have reapply original EVGA 3090TI OC bios.    Magically, my system is stable.  This is weird.  Because i had been using 4985 XOC V2 bios for 3 month without any issue.  Why would all the sudden my EVGA 3090Ti Bios seems cruupted?  But... Reapply original EVGA 3090ti seems to stablize.

Additional Info.   iCue 5.9 and G.Skill Trident Z Lighting control is the cause of issue.  Yes, I can Run both iCue 5.9 and Trident Z at same time.  But i use Trident Z to shutoff Memory RGB Lighting as soon as i login to Windows 11.

I can inst all Asus Amoury Crate and iCue 5.9 without any issue too.  But Amoury Crate is causing Cinebench R23 800+ lower score.

With Trident Z Lighting Control, Cinbench R23: ~41600.

With Asus Amoury Crate: Cinbench R23 : ~40800.

Its defintely not worth it for me to install Asus Amoury Crate just to control my Memory Lightning.

Finally: I was able to use old out dated Asus Aura 1.07.84_v2.   It works fine too. I wish Asus can continue make Asus Aura standalone and instead of bundle it into Amoury Crate.

i spoke too soon.  It crash.  Flash  my EVG 3090ti back to 4985 X2 OC again.  But replace the 12vhwp cable.  hope its stable.

😞 Continue crashing.  Tried with diff graphic card, Asus 1080ti.  Still crashing.   So its not the graphic card.   Now i am back on EVGA 3090ti with old 12vhwp cable.   Replace the 24 Pin power cable  Down grade  bios to 1303.

Finally stable...   I think i found the culprit of the problem.  A series of unfortunate events.  Original thought it was delid CPU.. replace it with 14900K.  Still crashing.  Replace PSU.  Not working.   took a close look at the Z790 Hero.  I see my CPU pin is bend.  While diagnosis problem, i remember that when i removed the AIO, CPU was also removed from the socket.  While in the process of put CPU back, i drop it on top of the CPU socket crooked.   In process of fixing. bend more CPU Pin... 😞   Got a new Z790 Dark Hero.  looks stable.  but then start crashing again.  I am about pull my hair out.  Sometimes it take 30 min to crash.   Sometimes it is almost immediate when login.    Also tried to use a diff GPU and still crashing.

Software running: iCue, G.skill DRAM light control,  Most of my system consisit of Corsiar fans and H170I AIO.  Need Icue to control the fan and light.   G.Skill is to at least sync the DRAM light rainbow color.

As it  turns out, disable the g.skill Light and close the app fix it.    So right now, DRAM light is off.  And system is stable.  yes, i did memtest my ram.  It pass 4 times without problem.  Problem occurred only when that software is running and cuase system to stop responding.  Event manager was showing all kind of Hardware failure.  Now is working.  Jsut weird why DRAM light software causes so much issue.

You did well to track that problem down 👍

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4001, MEI 2433.6.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.35.2557, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Final Update.

It turns out ICue 5.8 and G.Skill Trident Z Lighting Control 1.00.35 is not compatible.  I can run ICue 5.8 only or Trident Z only.  But not both at same time.

Downgrade ICue 5.8 to 5.7 (Previous Version).   It works fine with Both iCue 5.7 and Trident Z 1.00.35 at same time.  For now, I reach out to Corsair to let them know the 5.8 is causing the problem.
