Hello,
I'm having trouble with identifying a brand new Intel Optane Memory H20 32GB 1TB M.2 (HBRPEKNL0203A) on a
Asus Prime Z690-P motherboard (rev 1.xx, BIOS version 0404). H20 is a M.2 NVMe stick, combining Intel Optane chip togeher with a regular SSD. I've installed on the M.2_1 slot (see image below).
After the build, I've installed Win 10 OS, installed latest driver (Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management: Product Version: 19.0.1022.0 ; RST Driver Version: 19.2.0.1003) but the Optane chip was not recognized by Windows. I've double checked all steps taken after the OS install, configured BIOS to default settings reinstalled and re-instled OS, but the issue was still there. hence i believe that the issue resides either with the firmware, BIOS settings, or maybe physical setup (If for some reason I've have selected another M.2 slot). This conclusion is based on the fact that the BIOS is not seeing Optane chip (see two attached images, one mine and one from the web).
I've already turned to Intel support, and they have some general starting ideas that change BIOS setup, but those steps may make the disk unbootable, and I'd prefer to find someone who might have encountered this issue and can spare me experiments that may require formatting my SSD (as the OS might be ,essed up in the process). Thanks in advance!
P.S. More relevant information:
Current UEFI/BIOS settings (selected as Optimized Defaults after initial try):
- BIOS mode: UEFI
- Intel Rapid Storage Technology: ON
- VMD configuration (under System Agent in ASUS bios utility):
- VMD controller: Enabled
- Map PCIE Storage under VMD: Enabled
- Map SATA Controller under VMD: Enabled.
I have additional printscreens and logs if needed.
