Hi John, I should have said I am already on BIOS 0810 and as mentioned it reports "16.1.25.2020" as the ME version, I just wondered if that was the same version as "16.1.25.2020v2_S_Z" (Not sure what the v2_S_Z represents to be honest)?

To be honest I'm not sure either, but better to take that S_Z version from the support pages. I think it's fair to assume that it is different somehow, that's the version I would flash if I were you....

Hi John, just to let you know I updated with the "16.1.25.2020v2_S_Z" file and the BIOS still reports the same "16.1.25.2020".

Appreciate you letting me know. Not that I understand, but all part of our learning journey 👍. Assume all is working well for you. Thanks.

It might be that the BIOS is modified slightly to suit your board or something, but otherwise is 99% 16.1.25.2020. Only a guess.

@JohnAbHello, i have quick question (simple yes or no reply will be enough i believe lol).

I will build a new pc with Maximus Z790 Hero and i9 13900KS. My correct installation order in my case will be like;

Win11 > all win updates > mei driver check&install > me firmware update > bios update > all other necessary drivers via Armoury Crate

Is it correct installation order?

Thanks for reply mate ✌️

hi john, i know this thread is a little older but its better to ask before doing something bad, the thing is, recently i bought an asus PRIME Z690-P DDR5, with a i5 13600kf, this board doesnt let you to update the bios without any cpu, and i didnt have a 12th gen cpu, so what the guy of the store did, was to update the bios for me with a 12th cpu that he had, the "problem" is that i didnt check that the asus manufacter said, that i have to instal the intel ME before update the bios, so, it is secure if i install the intel ME after the bios updated? i already have installed the most recent bios version, the 2212, should i install the intel ME update now? i had no option, and im very happy with this pc right now, but i dont want it to break it or something haha, and also, it is 100% necesary to update the intel ME? it affects the performance? or its just a security pc thing?  thank u so much and have a great night!
