Today I found new driver added to ROG Strix Z790-E called Intel DTT. It never previously was listed in driver section for this board.
Anyone know what this driver is for and what exactly it does?

I don't know anything about a driver, but there is a new BIOS feature called Dynamic Tuning Technology which is basically an energy saving feature. As far as I know, it will reduce CPU speed when it can to reduce power consumption. Haven't tried it myself, but it has been discussed over at the overclock.net forums.
EDIT: Noticed that MoKiChu has just released IPF-DTT drivers on his threads

Hello 👋 iam also wondering if it’s necessary to install the new DTT drivers in windows in case when the new bios-option „Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology“ (wich can be found there since bios 1402 under „Advanced/Thermal Configuration“) is disabled at standard. In 1303 this option wasn’t there.
I think it doesn’t make sense, to install the driver in windows when the DTT option is disabled in bios? Anyone knows?

i would love an explanation on what this does. the only thing i found on google is it helps with temperature and power. but that summary was on a laptop forum so i have no idea what it does on desktop but as far as i know it works on 11th gen intel and newer so.

following.. need more information. If its all about energy saving.. then NO

Seems to have performance benefits as well.

To be honest that official description seems so sketchy and uninformative from Intel. Maybe on laptops with very limited cooling capabilities this driver somehow manages better thermals, but if we are talking about desktops the only things which will give you best performance is your overall system components, bios power/thermal settings and good cpu cooler. Interesting that this DTT was not even available as a feature on our motherboards till today - this even more raises questions about true value of this DTT - is it even worth? I mean for example if I have good cpu aio which not thermally throttles my 13900k on heavy things like Cinebench even till 290-300w and I have not reached power and thermal limits - I have full turbo all the time and true full performance. Similar approach have most of desktop PC enthusiasts. I just dont get how this AI based driver can help improve our systems. For now it seems this dtt will just lower the clock speeds on heavy loads and lower performance you already have to maintain lower temps... I think someone like GamersNexus should make some video with tests and explaining how this thing works on desktop high end PCs and if this thing is not just another Intel bloatware which in the end will only decrease performance... There is too much unknown about this thing and how ir really works...

Ended up finding this thread after seeing the new driver on the z790 Hero page, was curious what's it all about and if it works as intended.

I've installed MoKiChU's IPF and DTT drivers that he has made available, even though I have no intention of enabling DTT. I really don't know if they are doing anything, everything seems the same. I guess the drivers are only going to be active if DTT is enabled in BIOS. Mainly I installed them as I just like to have all drivers up to date. If I do decide to enable DTT and give it a try, I'll report back.

Ok, if you will decide to enable that DTT in BIOS, could you then check in Windows Power Plan settings if there appears any new features as well for power plans (TDP, Power Limit etc)?
