I have an Asus Z690-f Wifi motherboard. I want to connect the exhaust fan to the CPU_OPT fan output. Will I have any problems?

Check the power ratings for each fan header but I think that all fan headers are 1W and the water pump header can supply 3W. Please check though, that's from memory, but I think you'll be fine.

Sorry, I meant 1A (12W) and 3A (36W). What an idiot I can be. But my answer still stands, the CPU-OPT fan header should be all good for an exhaust fan.

It's worth mentioning that CPU_OPT runs in sync with CPU_FAN, which the temperature source cannot be changed for and is tied to CPU/Package temperature. To control the exhaust fan independently, you'd need to utilise another header.
