Hi, I'm having trouble going back to the previous bios version on my b660g gaming wifi. Upgrading to newer versions was available, but reverting to older versions was not. The downgrade function is enabled in the bios settings.
USB BIOS FlashBack does not help, the motherboard bios does not recognize the renamed bios file on the USB drive.
I look forward to your advice. Thank you!

Hi @X_Delo did you insert your USB Drive in the slot labeled BIOS when using the BIOS Flashback button? Only this special slot will work using the Flashback button. You can use any USB slot if you use the EZ Flash Tool from the BIOS.
Also, there is a limit on how far back you can go. That is a pretty old version for your board and you may not be able to go that far back. Have you tried any version higher than this one like say 2404?

Hi @achugh Yes I used the correct USB slot for the BIOS Flashback function and followed the instructions to correctly perform such an update (downgrade bios version). First upgraded to version 1620 to install 13700 and tests, and then couldn't go back. Tried several updates to raise the bios version, which worked. In the end, I updated to the latest bios version at the ti
When using BIOS Flashback, the update seems to start, lasts for 5-10 seconds and the process freezes, but when using the wrong USB drive or the wrong version of BIOS, the update does not start and the indicator freezes immediately.
I will try to roll back gradually this evening and let you know which version I managed to do

I don't think you can downgrade it that far if you upgraded to the latest BIOS. There is other firmware image Intel ME which is distributed inside BIOS, they both have dependency on each other.
Imho you can only downgrade BIOS to version 3010 for your motherboard, since it upgrades Intel ME as well.
This bases on information I gathered around, not on my personal experience.
ROG STRIX B660-G GAMING WIFI BIOS 3010
Version 3010
13.31 MB 2023/12/20
1. Update ME to version 16.1.30.2307v4
2. Improve system performance
3. Improve DRAM compatibility
4. This update includes the patch for the LogoFAIL vulnerabilities
Updating this BIOS will simultaneously update the corresponding Intel ME to version 16.1.30.2307v4. Please note after you update this BIOS, the ME version remains the updated one even if you roll back to an older BIOS later.
Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (SB660G.CAP) using BIOSRenamer."

Sounds good. It will be great if you can share why are you trying to downgrade? This will help you get the information needed to solve your problem better without downgrading so that you can have the benefits of latest BIOS fixes while also not getting into any issues.

Why do you want to downgrade BIOS?
If you updated to BIOS 3410 Beta, you might have some problems. The latest Beta BIOS for all boards has some bugs, just downgrade to one before non-Beta version 3403.
