How to disable TVB z790 Hero

Hello,

We all know about intel 13th 14th gen problems. So I just want to disable TVB to 6.00Ghz boost on my 13900KS on a z790 hero motherboard.

But I can't get it done. Because if I disable "TVB voltage optimizations" or even others there. It is still the same. It still boosts itself to 6.00ghz in windows. Even it still shows the "target frequency" as 6.00Ghz in bios even if i disable those.

What I want to do is; I want to keep boost to 5.8Ghz ( which is "intel turbo max technology 3.0" ) . But disable the TVB boost to 6.00Ghz.

Help is much appreciated. Thank you.

In the tweakers page, set the  performance multiplier mode (forget what it is actually called) from auto to "Per Core" and change the 60 multipliers to 58:

60 60 56 56 56 56 56 56  ->  58 58 56 56 56 56 56 56

Also, in the Internal CPU power management page, set  "IA VR voltage limit" to 1500 (mv)

Hello, thanks for your reply. I have uploaded another pic.

Which one are you talking about? I believe you are talking about "specific performance core" right?

But so, if I set all specific performance cores like 56 56 56 56 58 58 56 56 ( 5th and 6th are "*" cores ) and then, they constantly run at 5.8Ghz. Not like 5.6Ghz and boost to 5.8Ghz when needed. The 2 cores just runs at 5.8Ghz.

is that normal? is that how it is? it should be?

I have been trying to get that done to my i9 13900kf myself,  and there is always something off,

I tried all tvb off with intel turbo boost 3.0 off too and those 2 cores still boosted to 5.8ghz

1. sync all cores to 55 = they only do 54 but continuously,  the cpu doesn't downclock in windows,  vids always at full 1.3+

2.  By core / per core ratio = same thing they never downclock, even by only changing those 2 cores and rest on auto

I really hope you get an answer ,  I have been asking all around and even in this forum and while some wants to help,

with recommended methods,  no-one never explain how to stop the CPU for working at full while idle once those things are modify!

Thanks for your reply. Well, yes. No matter what I did, I also couldn't figure it out. Btw, if I sync all cores to x56 = what it does is; it works at 5.2Ghz and boosts to 5.6Ghz. It is weird.

But maybe if you chose "balanced" mode power option from windows. Then it is not always works at full speed. Maybe this can fix ur issue.

But what I want to do is; I just want to disable the boost to 6.0Ghz (TVB) but keep the intel turbo max 3.0 boost to 5.8Ghz on my 13900KS.

I am already in balanced mode:   and changing to any of those methods makes CPU stop down clocking.

"But what I want to do is; I just want to disable the boost to 6.0Ghz (TVB) but keep the intel turbo max 3.0 boost to 5.8Ghz on my 13900KS"    that is exactly what I want to do to, in my case 13900kf stop the boost to 5.8 ghz!

But also keeping the boost to 5.5ghz and be able to have the CPU chill down-clock while not doing anything , also not having the vid at  1.3v+ all the time!

I would of thought some smart asus people in this forum could of help us faster, but it seems these forums are kind of empty and not much going on here!  However I am still waiting for a nice person to help out!

Yeah well, sometimes it takes a while for people to respond here.

Hello there, someone helped me out in another non asus forum

The settings where you can choose sync all core or by core etc,  leave that auto

go down a bit more and look for :

" specific performance core limits " there you can do only the 2 cores or all cores to the desire speed you want!

they still down-clock while in windows,  although most time they are now at 1,100 mhz instead of 800mhz which they do after idling for a while.

Hope this help you, because that actually stop the 2 cores boost!

Thank you for reply brother. Yea, I know about that. But that is not the proper way to do it I believe. Because then it is always 5.8Ghz boosted on like any load. And for some reason, my temps go higher than 6Ghz TVB default if i do specific core 5.8Ghz, also scores lower single core too.

You're looking for Intel boost behaviour whilst also changing Intel boost behaviour, that's the issue. Setting specific core is the best way to achieve what you want without compromising performance. Please note ETVB needs to be enabled for the > 1.55v voltage cap to be enforced.
