Hello. Is there anything I can do to lower the temperature of the chipset? The temperature shown in the screenshot 56C is obtained when the computer is started and running at "idle". The settings in Bios are default. No overclocking.

Hi @Tommy_M
That is well within spec and about what you can expect. It will also depend on the storage configuration.

Your temperature is perfectly fine, but if you do want to get it down some more (when playing games etc) then you can a) Place a small fan that blows over the heatsink, b) try lowering your two PCH voltages to their midpoints in BIOS (Extreme Tweaker) and c) remove the heatsink and check the thermal paste and pad (not recommended of course, consider warranty)
I use a couple of small 8cm fans which lowers the PCH temperature by around 10°C and even under heavy load on a warm day it rarely goes above 65°C. Not essential, but I don't like chips running much hotter.

looks fine to me, and is well known since z690 to current. i have a little more heat build up on load cause the gpu cover most of the lower part of the board. in fact same as mine btw. so is ok. do not worry about it. is on specs. i have that board since 4 years now.

Hi again and thanks for the reply. It's my daughter's computer that I/she built. She had filled up the C drive 1TB so I cloned it to a 2TB. Then put that old 1TB drive in socket m.2_3 which is right under the chipset. Moved now the drive to socket m.2_4 and the temp went down to 43C. Has Samsung 990 EVO plus SSD drives that run at full speed.
