Hi,
I want to safely undervolt my Maximus Z690 Hero with an i7 13700K cpu. I just want to start with a safe amount and how and where to change the setting in the BIOS. Never did this before and I I have the latest BIOS and just built the system a few weeks ago. I have a 360 AIO too. Anyhow, in BF 2042 I got some freezing screens for a few seconds here and there so I opened up the Armory app and watched my temps on the cpu and gpu. The cpu shows 2 different temps for it and one is for the package (I think) and the other is for the cpu. Anyhow, they were both getting into the 80's with the higher of the 2 reaching 86 or 87C. I think that may be considered acceptable but I don't mind losing a minimum amount of performance to get the temps down as much as possible by undervolting the cpu. Anybody been there done that?
Thanks

What temps you have on idle?
1. for that cpu bios is 4301 and run on intel specs. (read the ami screen) tip f5 then f10 then get back to bios this guarantee intel specs are activated.
2. This temps are on??? cinebench game idle?
3. what aio where are the aio cables are plug etc
let me help a little.

Hi,
Temps at idle are currently at 37 and 38 (cpu and cpu package) and 45 and 49 (fluxuate)I checked them using the Armory Crate app.
ID-Cooling FX360 INF 360 AIO
All connected to the proper ports on the MB so PWM is active
Thanks

Then is fine. IF you are seeing those 80ish temp on benchmarks then is fine.

It's when I play Battlefield 2042 that it gets into the 80's but I am thinking I just had a bad connection to the server when it freezes for a second once in a while as it does it on my other pc too sometimes. But if I wanted to lower the max watts how would I do that? Just want to know the correct way if I want to cool it down a little.
Thanks

I already have BIOS version 4301 as I updated it before I even built it. I guess I already have it set the correct way as I set to defaults during the build. I just checked and I just turned on "enable XMP" on my RAM as I had left that off. My AIO is this one:
GPU is Nvidia Geforce RTX5070
Thanks

The pump is to aio pump and fans to cpu fans ? temp should be fine unless you have a bad contact with a bad cpu thermal paste. that model i do know a little of it i test that some time ago is not brainer and has no way to mess it up.
If the pump in on 100% and fans are on standard shoudl be ok with a good thermal paste

Yes the pump and fans are plugged into those ports. I will see if the pump is better at 100% but it is plugged into the correct port. I know this porcessor runs hot but have read where others seem to have underclocked it or changed the power limits. For now I will just leave as is as I belive the Battlefield game is the issue as some days it works perfect and others I will run into a few 1 or 2 second freezes. Could be a server connection issue or an ISP issue but I do have fiber. 😀
