Gear 1 or Command Rate 1 has more impact on gaming performance?

I've read articles regarding using gear 1 over gear 2 for better performance. I've come across some articles regarding how command rate 1 is better for gaming than command rate 2.

My question is, if only option to use either one or the other which one has more of an impact for gaming?

I am comparing a 32 GB 4266MHz DDR4 GSkill Ripsaw V CL 16 ram set. Which setting per below would be faster?

Setting 1: (not able to post using XMP I and everything default so had to down clock the frequency)
Gear: 1
XMP I
4000MHz overclock CL to 15 (7.5 nanoseconds)
*Command Rate 1 - would not post and used auto (cpu-z showed that this was sec to Command rate 2)
------
Setting 2: (able to boot with stock speeds and stock CL of 16 but could not use gear 1)
Gear: Auto
XMP II
4266MHz stock CL 16 (7.5 nanoseconds)
Command Rate 1 - working with this setting

Here’s the difference based on my understanding:

Â*1T gear 1, 2133mhz memory clock, memory controller 2133mhz: IMC can send 2,133,000,000 commends every second.

2T gear 1, 2133mhz memory clock, memory controller 2133mhz: IMC can send 1,066,500,000 commends every second.

1T gear 2, 2133mhz memory clock, memory controller 1066.5mhz: IMC can send 1,066,500,000 commends every second.

2T gear 2, 2133mhz memory clock, memory controller 1066.5mhz: IMC can send 533,250,000 commends every second.

Gear 2 halves the memory controller clock, while commend rate halves the overall commends per second. So in my opinion, as far as commends per second, 2T gear 1 is the same as 1T gear 2.Â*

So in other words, Gear 1 and Command Rate 1 essentially cancel themselves out in this comparison as they're the same as you stated. Then it boils down to ram frequency and the 4266MHz obviously wins out over 4000Mhz with the cas latency being the same.
