TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Hi, sorry to be dumb, would these driver packages enable a z790 Maximum Extreme to encode system sounds and games as DTS (or DD) and send over SPDIF?
My older ASUS motherboard seemed to have that feature and I am sad it isn't on this board!! 🙂

Hi,

No (nowadays no motherboard delivers anything other than Stereo PCM via SPDIF/Optical, so no Dolby/DTS), and since I only offer OEM original drivers, WHQL signed by Microsoft (modding is not my field), these will not bring you anything more than the audio drivers packages available in your motherboard support page.

Hi,

This has been fixed, please redownload your drivers package.

Hi

The tree from where you launch the installer is too long, please move the drivers package to a location with a shorter tree (for example in your Downloads folder).

.

Thanks, that makes sense to me.

May i ask what do these drivers do for me that the official ASUS package doesn't offer and why i would choose to use these ones you evidently spend so much time and care on?

(other than they are not utterly broken like the ASUS installer seems to be, lol)

--edit--
hmm oh, i spoke too soon, i have exactly the same issue with your driver package as the official asus one (no surprise i guess as the fault is likely with realtek) basically its like not a single inf file is processed (the service isn't installed, the driver on the Realtek USB2.0 device is not updated from the stock windows driver to the Realktek USB Audio driver. Setupapidev.log doesn't have enough info. Is there a switch to force extremely verbose logging on install so i can see what is failing?

On the ASUS drivers after install i can fix by running each inf file manually. That didn't seem to work with this package and in setupapidev.log it indicates a hardware matching issue...

I have had this issue on both Win11 22H2 (i.e. stock windows) and Insider Preview 25272....

Hi,

Please refer to my previous post (and so, re-download your drivers package and follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process).

As reminder :

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.
