OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD - AM4/AM5) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Mokichu, whats the difference between Realtek USB Audio and your other thread "[DRIVERS] REALTEK AUDIO (MB | INTEL 2XX/3XX/4XX/5XX & AMD 3XX/4XX/5XX)" which one should I be downloading from for my Maximus XIII Hero?

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Regarding your first question, it is indicated in the hardware requirements :

Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx series chipsets (except ROG 5xx ALC408x).

Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx series chipsets with ALC408x codec.

Hi,

I have an Asus Rog Maximus XIII Hero motherboard, so I must install these drivers: ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound Intel/AMD motherboards - correct ?

I have installed the drivers in the way you suggested (before this I cleaned all the drivers as you explained) but the Realtek Audio Control/Console app doesn't install automatically and when I try to download this app from the Microsoft Store I cannot download it because I get this error: 0x803FB005

How I can solve this issue ?

Thanks in advance.

This is as bad a driver as the others. Windows often loads slower lagging waiting for the driver.

You can even hear a bass boom when driver is loading.

Man, I miss my Z270. Never had any issues with sound or loading what a big mess this USB chip was. I usually never buy when a new toy is added, but in my 20 plus years building I fell in the trap and got bitten.

Realtek has nothing about the chip. Asus says it's all good and a bunch of customers are probably tone deaf, blind or confused. YEAH, RIGHT.

Thanks for the driver MoKiChU :D. It's not your fault. You only post them.

I Have the same problem, I need to disable the front jack recognition and change front mic to line in, and then the Speaker and Microphone that is plugged on the back of MB show or need to disconnect Speakers and reconnect to show up, and the MIC magically appear too.

Hello friend,
I have the same issue. And i already replied the post on z590-e sound issue subject.
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?123353-Rog-Strix-Z590-E-Gaming-Wifi-sound-issue/page7 #number68
I also contacted local asus service and waiting reply for lots of days days. No reply.
I am not glad to purchase this motherboard.
Old one z97 mark s has not any this issue (Card from 7 years ago.)

i doubt if Asus is advancing or regressing technology.
If This is from realtek, not from asus, this is none of our business as customers. needs to be supported. I sent a private message to admin and moderator, it was not even read to reply.
If you upgrade sound firmware, you can't return old firmware. I don't suggest upgrade firmware.
