OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hello,

I have looked through several pages of this thread and found either confusing answers or a lack of answers to people asking about my motherboard.
I am hoping someone can help me here as I originally came in here fed up with this issue and was going to make a separate post for support.

I have an ROG Strix B550-F motherboard.

Since the day I took the motherboard out of the box, the supplied audio drivers on the rog.asus.com website have NEVER worked. Not once over SEVERAL reformats.

If I install the manufacturer supplied drivers, the sound will not work. If I change the volume on the volume slider in the launch menu, it will lag and show no "response" where it usually indicates the tone being played with a fancy animation.

I have tried the drivers from the support page, and from Armoury Crate with no success. This issue has been ongoing for well over 2 years now with several attempts by myself to make it work. The only way I can get sound to work on this motherboard is by uninstalling the ROG supplied drivers and using the base windows ones.

Reviewing other posts about the B550-F in this thread I see a reference to Gen 1 or Gen 2. What is that and how do I identify my motherboard?
Referring back to the original post in this thread, I see several drivers and cleanup / installation processes listed with no instructions for identifying which one specifically should work with my motherboard.

How do I identify which driver I should be using? Again, this is a ROG Strix B550-F

Please help here. This issue has been a building frustration for the life of the motherboard, which wasn't cheap and wasn't sold with the promise of basic windows audio drivers.

Note : If the sound still does not work after that, try this : Launch Realtek Audio Control/Console > Device advanced settings tab > Playback Devices : Check Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously (circled in red in the screenshot below) :

Where can I get version realtek audio usb 1152.9.20 for the Z590-F? Armoury Crate says it's the latest/update but I can't find it anywhere. the downloads on realteks site don't work.

Hi,

You are in the wrong drivers thread and the drivers version syntax that you quote does not match with the drivers version syntax of the Realtek USB Audio Drivers that you need (6.3.9600.xxxx) from the correct drivers thread.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Hi,

You have an ASUS TUF DTS Audio Processing motherboard, so :

TUF X570-PLUS DTS Custom
I am so glad I found this thread. I got through the install and update for my motherboard (thanks for the great instructions). I am trying to figure out an audio issue.

I have my rear audio I/O ports connected with 3.5mm to RCA jacks going to my Onkyo receiver in the multichannel inputs. In the Realtek Audio Console I have it set to 7.1 Speaker and have verified that the test sound plays correctly for each and every speaker. I also ran the same test in the windows sound settings and it also plays the test sound through each and every speaker.

So I have confirmed by playing the test that all the speakers are connected properly. They all played the test sounds fine.

Now, when I play any media it will only play out of the front right and front left speakers. I tried youtube, pandora, spotify and I even downloaded some 7.1 media files to make sure that the content was more than just 2 channel. Only the front right and front left speakers played anything. I also tried clicking on individual speakers for the test sound while the 7.1 media was playing and they were all playing the test sound as expected, but audio from the media still continued to play just from the 2 speakers.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Shawn
