I've just arrived at what might be the solution to why my PC is constantly freezing - the requirement to "disable C-State" - having seen an old ROG Forum thread and a reddit post.
When I went into the BIOS and disabled what appeared to be the global C-State setting - I also saw what was called the advanced or extended C-State setting just above it and I left that as 'enabled', as no-one has mentioned that before.
2 Questions:
- I'm not sure whether I need to actually disable that setting as well or just leave things as they are?
- I also read in one post that slight undervolting needs to be conducted in tandem with this C-State change. Can anyone confirm if that if that is really necessary? - tbh, it's something I'd prefer not to undertake if I can help it.
Incidently, BIOS 1801 was the last one available on 2024/12/06.

Regarding C-States official recommendation from Intel - you should leave enabled them both - C-States and Enhanced C-States.
I personally in BIOS limit C-State package to C1/C0 and disable Enhanced C-States. That way if I use Windows High Performance power plan my CPU is not downclocking itself and use only common C-States. I also in Windows turned off Windows Core Parking which had dramatical impact on latency especially in music production where audio latency processing is very important. I used ParkControl app for disabling core parking in Windows. Hope this helps. Also you can check your system DPC latency in LatencyMon app - that way you will know if your PC and Windows are correctly optimized for low latency operations.

That is interesting. Regarding C-States first - I have found that in the past 2 weeks there hasn't been 1 computer freeze. I have my normal C-State set to off, and Enhanced left on.
I always manually set the PC to High Performance whenever I play games, and put the fans into Turbo mode.
With this in mind, would you still recommend that I leave standard C-State on and turn Enhanced C-State off - in other words, the opposite settings to how I have it set right now? - I was just wondering about the CPU downclocking itself (on the settings I'm using now in conjunction with High Performance Power Plan), as well as any adverse effect (of a change) on how it seems I've managed to stop the freezing.
nb. I don't think there's any way in the BIOS to set standard C-State to C1/C0 or any other setting - it's either on or off.

I will definitely look into the audio latency stuff later too - because I use music production software (VirtualDJ). However, I used it last night, and with my current CPU settings it was working ok without any noticeable latency delays.
