Corsair DDR5 6600Mhz cas32 with Z690 Maximus Extreme XMP Bug ?

Hello,

I'm on ASUS Z690 Maximus Extreme ( last bios 1720 ) :
I have DDR5 6600 cas 32 Dominator from Corsair.
But when I activate the XMP rpofile everything bugs and I have crashes.

Is this motherboard limited to 6400 Mhz??

What needs to be changed to make it work?

Have you tried an older bios like 1304? I am using the Corair 6600c32 on Apex at 7000c30 but I manually set timings and voltages.

1720 the microde has issues and causes problems. I would try an older bios.

I tried with several old bios but it does not work, finally, I put the bios 1601 back because the 1720 apparently causes problems according to your link.
I'm going to stay with my DDR5 6200 Cas 36 which don't cause me any problems with XMP...

No, XMP2 is the full timings from the ram SPD.

XMP1 is most timings from the ram SPD and some timings set by the motherboard. It's usually easier to run than XMP2.

Run at XMP 1, XMP 1 mode is is the optimized speed for the board.

Okay... now I have another problem after all this...

My DIMM A1 and A2 slots no longer detect my memories...

I have a code 55 if I put a strip in either and the only ones that work are B1 and B2...

Has this ever happened to anyone here?
Any idea to restore the situation?

OP,.. your IMC signal rails could be the issue, 6600 is difficult on a four DIMM board,..

try increasing VCCIO, which powers the L3 cache and the pre-input buffers of the IMC, by 50mv.

If that doesn't help, increase both VCCIO and VCCSA by 50mv.


However, if your motherboard is absolutely not stable with 6600, that's fine. Go to a lower frequency that your system can handle.

Higher frequency does not always mean better results, regardless of primary timings. A well tuned lower frequency could be your best option.

Example: Corsair 6600 C32 kit @ XMP 1 vs same 6600 kit manually tuned @ 6200 C36.



The lower frequency 6200 tuned settings out perform the 6600 XMP 1 profile,.. and if you can't get 6200 stable,.. go for 6000.

Any more info? Looks from your sig you own a Corsair kit, if it's the same problem can you clarify what memory kit? There aren't any Corsair kits on the Z690 Extreme's QVL for 6600MT. There's only so much a vendor can do and there are many [valid] reasons why assurances can't be offered with overclocking.
