Can We Expect 0x12F Patch?

I'm running the ROG STRIX Z790-H GAMING WIFI with an i9-14900K. News came out that another patch to address instability issues on this gen and the 13th gen. Granted, I do not leave my PC on for days or weeks, and I haven't had any issues since I built my PC with this hardware. Regardless, when is the ETA for this patch on this MB?

After speaking briefly earlier, can confirm these are currently in the works. Not able to provide a timeline at this time

same question @asus: when we could expect a new bios including the new intel microcode 0x12F?

Relax, everyone. 😊

The UEFI update with 0x12F will come soon. 😉

Intel Core i7 13700K / AiO Fractal Design Lumen S36 v2 RGB / Asus Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WIFI / Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5-5600 64GB (4x 16GB) / Asus TUF RTX 5070 Ti OC / 4x Samsung 980 pro 1TB / Seasonic Prime GX 850 W Gold / Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB Black TG Light Tint / Monitor AOC Q27G2S/EU (WQHD)

The question wasn't about IF it will come, the question was WHEN it will come.

And I answered correctly: come soon.

What's wrong with that answer? 🙄

Nobody knows when the new microcode will be rolled out at Asus.

It's only been available since May 1, 2025.

Just because Asrock is rolling something out immediately doesn't mean all manufacturers are.
It will also likely be extensively tested first, if only because of the various settings in the UEFI of Asus motherboards.

The biggest bugs in the 13th and 14th generations have long since been fixed, and you're largely on the safe side with 0x12B.

The new microcode 0x12F simply builds on this and makes further optimizations, security improvements for a UEFI vulnerability, and minor adjustments related to VMin Shift:

from Intel:
As part of its effort to continually improve its products, Intel is releasing a new microcode update (0x12F) supplementing the 0x12B microcode update released in September 2024. This new microcode further improves system conditions that can potentially contribute to Vmin Shift Instability on Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen desktop-powered systems. Intel is releasing this 0x12F update based on Intel's investigation of a limited number of reports regarding systems continuously running for multiple days with low-activity and lightly-threaded workloads.

But that's about it.

What do you expect from the new microcode?

There isn't much coming that could 100% save the 13th and 14th generations, because some bugs are hardware-related and can't be fixed, and there won't be a new revision for these generations either.

and be patient.
Constantly asking won't speed things up compared to Asus.

So just relax. 😉

Intel Core i7 13700K / AiO Fractal Design Lumen S36 v2 RGB / Asus Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WIFI / Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5-5600 64GB (4x 16GB) / Asus TUF RTX 5070 Ti OC / 4x Samsung 980 pro 1TB / Seasonic Prime GX 850 W Gold / Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB Black TG Light Tint / Monitor AOC Q27G2S/EU (WQHD)

Well in that case, "WHEN IT'S READY"... 😁

would like to see this rolled out as soon as possible.

We all certainly want that. 😉
But when bugs arise due to an update released too quickly, the outcry is loud again.

Therefore, it's always better to do a bit more testing than to release something like this too quickly.

Anyone already on 0x12B is largely well protected for now, as long as the respective CPU doesn't show any damage to Intel standards or any abnormalities when NO overclocking is used.
I think we can expect a BETA + 0x12F at the end of May.

Let's see.😊

Anyone knows if the new microcode 0x12F includes fix for in Intel's CPU vulnerability CVE-2024-45332, discovered by ETH Zurich researchers?

Many CPUs are affected, including Arrow Lake 😋
