Can't make it running Z790-E

Hi everyone

Hope you are doing well and have some little time to help me 😀
I really need some assistance to make my system starting. I have no idea where to search for the problem.

Here is a video what I see on MB display

Everything is disconnected. No ssd, no Graphics card, only CPU and memory.
I think I've managed to update the BIOS with USB stick.
I have also tried with only one memory slot.

Thanks in advance. 🙏

Hello diginix

Thank you for the video.

The last code the led readout stopped on was code d6.

Code d6 is usually a gpu related error. Since you're not using a dedicated gpu, make sure you have a monitor cable connected to the motherboard and monitor.

Hi Nate, thanks for you reply!

Yes tried it. I have tried both DP and HDMI and Both are working, monitor is on and working.same situation.

I mean cables are working. System is not

So I moved a bit further.

Installed a speaker and got 1 long and 3 short. - something with the video.

Next I realised that my CPU has no GPU 🤣 (14900KF) Stupid me...

Installed GPU and reset CMOS.

Now I can get BIOS, but after restarting it goes to the same failure and same beep. To get to the BIOS again, I have to reset CMOS again.

Any advise on that?
Thanks!!!

3 long one short is GPU stop code as mentioned by Nate already. You'll need to check which firmware the GPU is on before diagnosing further.

Assume you have a K processor for the internal GPU?

Also, Try another monitor. I recently read that somebody has a very similar problem and using an older 60Hz monitor allowed them to get into the BIOS. Most monitors do support 60Hz of course, I know, but it worked for them. So probably worth a try. Perhaps you can borrow one for troubleshooting.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4001, MEI 2433.6.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.35.2557, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

I don't need Internal GPU...
It works really in a weird way. Once I clear CMOS, I can get into the BIOS, and I have even started Windows installation.
After restart it forgets about GPU again and beeps... Again Clear CMOS and it works.

Monitor is pretty new and ASUS brand also. Videocard is ROG Strix 4090

But you said everything was disconnected...
