Before I returned my ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WIFI D4 for hardware failure I had installed Intels GPU driver for my 12700K. Am using a Nvidia RTX 3070 but thats not the point. Since I got a new motherboard and still having a few issues leading to the RTX 3070 being the culprit. I wanted to continue some troubleshooting in the hopes of identifying a cause. Not so much to get Nvidia or an app to update to fix it but more so I can RMA the GPU and provide a way the retailler can reproduce the crash rather than a constant back and forth till it happens for them. plus I can still use my PC for simpler stuff. Thats why I purchased the K and not the KF
Before I returned the motherboard I had went into graphics settings and was adding various things to use the CPU and not the RTX 3070. I can't do that now since the Intels GPU driver is not installed and I can not install it. I get
"
Something went wrong
No driver was found that can be install on the current device. Exit code 8. "
Intels error codes don't mention 8. has 7 and then 9 but no 8.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why I cannot install this driver?
EDIT: Ok so little research seems to show intergrated is disabled if a dedicated GPU is installed. No Bios option to toggle it enabled/disabled.....I've spent ages looking everywhere in the bios so I'm going blind or it's not there for this board. Strange that both were active and working on the previous motherboard with Bios 1003.......
So nice when companies update **** and remove/change stuff without bothering to include them in the update notes fgs. So if I get another crash related to GPU I'll be force to revert to a previous bios version or take my chances of doing another RMA and hope the retailer has the same issue. The joys of intermitten crashes without a way to decern an actual cause to reproduce it. Thanks Asus. Stop removing stuff that can be useful and focus more on fixing stuff. Armoury crate still slow as hell. I could boot NES faster than loading Armoury crate and switching to a section and thats on a 12700k. Ridiculous.
Thought about just deleting this thread but decided a little RANT may let of some steam........
