-ProArt Z790 Creator
-i9 13900ks
-Samsung 990pro
They show up in the BIOS drive information, they are in the BIOS management, I can create RAIDs with them, etc, etc - but I can't get them into the boot section, or to show up in the Windows 11 drive selection.
-Updated ASUS bios to latest rev
-tried the CSM thing

OKAY. IM IN.
It was those Intel Drivers needing to be installed at the OS install stage!
If you want RAID, you need those drivers!

What a mess, I've tried everything.. what am I missing?

Is it because I'm trying to do raid 0 on the NVMe drives? I think that might be why...
I'm trying to run
1x Samsung 990 Pro 1tb (os)
1x Samsung 990 Pro 2tb
2x Samsung 990 Pro 2tb (4tb Raid)
and then 1x SATA 1tb kingston regular SSD
trying to install OS from CD Rom drive.
can I not do RAID 0 in this config and install an OS?

I decided to put the objective of RAID behind me for now, and to just get one of the m.2 drives to be recognized in boot menu which I've succeeded in doing.
CSM definitely needs to be on, default settings seem to work.
Launch CSM Enabled
Boot Dev Contrl UEFI and Legacy OPROM
Boot Net Legacy Only
Boot Storage Legacy Only
Boot PCIe Legacy Only
should any of these be changed to 'UEFI Only' or 'Ignore'?
Those are the only options for the last 3 there.
And then why is this? Are Samsung m.2 990 Pros not UEFI????
RAID is still off, that's next..

Okay yes, enabling RAID/Intel RSTVBM then does take the 1tb m.2 out of the bootlist...
why, and how to get around?

is this it.........
How to Enable Intel® VMD Capable Platforms for RAID or Intel®...
????
If this is what I need to do, why doesn't ASUS embed this in the mobo firmware? Or at least explain it somewhere in the manual/bios tips, etc??????????????
