Boot loop after clean install

ROGn8fvp8qjel4p

asus proart z790-creator wifi

Intel i7 14700

Had some problems with Windows and decided for a clean install.

Everything is fine. I install. It asks me to use onboard LAN and download asus armoury crate. It installs and when it reboots, it goes to recovery mode.

Tried to NOT install crate. Everything works until I start installing drivers. Then it goes to recovery again.

What could be the problem?

Hello ROGn8fvp8qjel4p

If it's wanting to do a recovery, let's hope you don't have a failing drive.

When installing Windows and Armoury Crate, this is how I do it:

1) Reset the bios to default settings (F5 Key).

2) Wipe the drive clean during the format options, install windows.

3) Install the chipset driver for your motherboard - version V10.1.20062.8627  ProArt Z790-CREATOR WIFI|Motherboards|ASUS Global

4) Update the graphics driver.

5) Install an audio driver if needed.

6) Update windows.

7) Install Armoury Crate.

How does this go?

I did All that - several times.

At one point I could boot in safe mode, but when I tried to open Edge Browser (to install Chrome) it went to recovery again.

Changed my brand New corsair 850W psu to an old 650W and now Everything works.....

That's quite odd a power issue would cause a recovery, I might not have suspected that.

Nice find !

Care to share your gpu and the model of your Corsair 850w psu?

You might want to contact Corsair for a replacement.
