Hi everyone,
I did the update the day before yesterday and spent all time since then to find out what happened: my PC freezes randomly after the upgrade.
Intel i7 13700K, Asus Proart z790 Creator WiFi, Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 64 Gb,Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Ti.
I came from Bios 2505, so Intel ME was updated too. Rolling back to 2505 doesn't fix it.
Run memory check from Bios and it's all good.
Reverted to bios default, cleared CMOS...nothign works so far.
It never froze while inside bios.
The only thing I can't do is roll back Intel ME.
Any clue?
Thanks!!!

You can't reset the Intel ME firmware to an older version either.
But that shouldn't be the cause of your problem.
Did you reset the BIOS/UEFI after the update?
The UEFI update usually asks you to do this and you should do it and then reset your settings.
PS:
I already had the latest Intel ME firmware update installed before a UEFI update and had no problems with it.

Yes

Try to bump voltage for CPU, by setting SVID to "Intel Fail Safe".
Also disable RAM overclocking by disabling XMP.
Check if it any better.
If you have any OC, then revert to stock clocks.
Then check one by one what is causing it.
Did you load old CMO file for BIOS?

I have no OC, only had XMP and fans optimized but now everything's back to default...

XMP is overclocking. It's not that uncommon for new ME firmware to impact OC stability, but certainly not always. You should always retest stability following an update.
1. Clear CMOS
2. Set XMP II
3. Increase VDD/VDDQ 20-30mV
4. If no change, increase tCAS 2 to 3 clocks.

i updated to 2801 recently and now my ram will NOT take any XMP profile, so im only getting 4000mhz out of my 6400mhz sticks. i spent around 2 hours the other day just staring at Q-codes cycling.
is anyone else having similar problems?

Hi I am as well. My PC also won’t wake up from sleep after the 2801 update. XMP does not work, even if it’s off there’s issues. XMP on causes BSODs. Intel default bios settings gives me a 30k r23 score. And I get a red cpu light stuck whenever system restarts after making changes in BIOS. I reached out to ASUS, I suggest you do the same so they’re aware!

Did the XMP work with the previous UEFI?
Which RAM are you using exactly and did you install 4 bars or 2?
Which motherboard do you have?
