BIOS 4001

Hi,

surprisingly there's a new BIOS in town. Funny as I've just yesterday updated to 3901 Beta after long pondering. Install went on smooth. About 6 minutes, LED software and ME Update incl.  Vcore is still a bit high, here while benching. But as far I can see the spikes maybe less.  BIOS defaults. Cinebench 2024 result the same as 3901.

Update: 13700K  ->  14900K

My specs now: Z690-I, 14900K, 2x16 Vengeance DDR5-5600, Noctua NH-D15

As far as I can say after a week BIOS 4001 is running without issues, no spikes, as soft as butter, temps are about 35°C idle, about 60°C while GTA V. CPU is more reactive and faster than 13700K even though tamed in BIOS. I don't do heavy tasks  and don't bother my system.

My conservative BIOS Settings aiming durability:
Performance Preferences [Intel Default Settings]
Intel Default Settings [Performance]
Ai Overclock Tuner [XMP I]
XMP [DDR5-5600 36-36-36-76-1.25V-1.25V]
ASUS MultiCore Enhancement [Disabled – Enforce All limits]
SVID Behavior [Intel’s Fail Safe]
DRAM Frequency [DDR5-5600MHz]
Maximum CPU Core Temperature [80]
Long Duration Package Power Limit [125]
Short Duration Package Power Limit [125]
IA VR Voltage Limit [1350]
IA TDC Current Limit [Motherboard's Capability]

Cinebench 2024: Intel Default Settings: Extreme. Just for testing. cine2024-2093pts - Copy.JPG

I haven't noticed that behaviour, but it seems that max boost is working well. I'm also happy to report that in terms of operation, I've seen no problems at all with 4001. Everything seems perfectly stable.

Just updated to bios 4001 yesterday on my rog strix z690-f & 14900k, enabled intel default setting-performance, and no issue at all. i also have my 14900K undervolted to -offset 0.06000 , the CPU is just 1month old. for RAM i have corsair dominitor platinum 4x 16gb 5600 but never seem to run at 5600 i have to run them on 5400, thats normal for me as 4x sticks always gives issues,

i had issue with 3802 as that bios was not stable for me but 4001 seems to have eliminated all the issue, so hopefully all the issues 13th & 14th gens are behind us.

just wanted to let anyone know with my spec (MB & CPU etc) that 4001 is stable for me, no crash or any other issue, waited a month for it to come out of beta and finally all is ok.

Hi, good to know everything is running fine. I wonder what's the difference between undervolting with offset and IA VR Voltage limit.

What is your Minimum Vcore in HWInfo64 and what is the actual necessary Minimum for  the 14900K?

Could you help me and tell me exactly which drivers I need for my i7 13700k?
(asus z690a gaming wifi d4) I always have a hard time with this because I don't understand Intel ME.
I think I need Intel ME, chipset and Serial iO.
but there are so many of them.
I would like to flash the current BIOS today and then restart Windows.
Maybe you could tell me which drivers (which number) I need for the latest bios.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart

Go to the motherboards downloads section in this forum and you'll find all of the drivers you need there - just work your way through the list

Just tried to enter my BIOS settings into the Opening Post and instantly my thread was marked as SPAM and vanished from this forum. Then I've deleted the new input and my thread reappeared. Why did that happen?

Update: Solved. My guess is that maybe I've used a buzzword that the forum code falsely identified as Spam.

Try clearing your browser cache, it might sort it out. It's resolved all sorts of strange problems for me here in the past...
