Just noticed that this new BIOS has just been released. I'll probably try it over the next few days and provide some comments here...

Always good to know what others think.

Just updated to 2802 and everything seems OK. CPU power, temp, PCH temperature and behaviour all seem normal. I don't bother with overclocking and only use XMP with my (pretty slow) RAM. I'll update here if I find anything unusual.

s there another way to force a BIOS downgrade/rollback? bios update removes compatibility with Thunderbolt 2 device

Are you saying that BIOS 2802 is locked from downgrades? If a BIOS is locked, there are ways to downgrade, but it's complicated. The simple answer is no. You should be able to simply use EZFlash (or the flashback port if you have one) to downgrade if needed. There is no way to force it that I know of, not unless you are good at modifying BIOS code and going through a complex procedure.

Just updated mine to this version.

1. CMO does not work it just freezes in the bios after applying.

2. Core voltage has increased with exactly the same settings as manually entered previous bios from 1.332v to 1.35v.

Back to previous bios I go.

Recently upgraded to this bios. After loading saved cmo I got error 53 memory error. Restored to optimized defaults. Booted fine. Went back in and manually set to XMP1 and manually set my other settings back in bios. Booted fine. All good so far.

I had a horrible time when I "upgraded" from 2602 to 2703 so I'm not sure I want to go through that again. If downgrading worked properly I wouldnt be so worried, but it  doesn't. The old bios returns but the new behaviours remain. The only reason I am interested is because of comments on here suggesting an  increased voltage since this may solve some of the issues I had with 2703.

@JohnAb -  After seeing your post yesterday, I downloaded and installed 2802 on my Z690F.  It installed with no problems.  It also successfully updated the IME to the latest version.

Everything seems to be running smoothly.  😎

Have a Good One! 😎

So, what's exactly this "Intel dynamic tuning technology" option I see now, after upgrading to 2802 ? I don't remember to have seen it before (Z690 Formula)

I Googled it. Leave it off.

BTW I did install this BIOS and it's a little more stable but AI OC still crashes no matter what I do. Cinebench R23 performance wise is still not as good as 2602 and is very similar to 2703. My Cinebench R24 scores are however great 🙂
