Asus z790 f wifi ii and rog thor 1600 watt....are 4+4 pins compatible with cpu for 14900k? Ordered 8

Just did 2 bios updates and have power to my motherboard with rog thor 1600watt but only have 4+4pins x2 to cpu 8pin connectors which don't work. Ordered 8pin eps cables .should those power the cpu cause I'm having no luck with 4+4 pin connectors that come with the rog thor1600w.

Hi @Kendawg69a

Sorry, I'm just trying to make sense of what it is you're saying. Are you saying the power supply did not come with the two 8-pin ESP12v connectors?

I only see 4 pin connectors that are split into 2 4 pin cpu connectors which did make my cpu power light turn off from being red. Waiting on 8 pin connectors to come in since they never came with the rog thor was wondering if that's why computer won't boot my 14900k.

Those are the 8-pin ESP connectors. They are molded this way so they can be installed in 4-pin ESP connectors also.

They don't seem to provide enough power for pc to boot would you happen to know?

Not sure what it is you're doing. Are you able to take a video? The bundled EPS cables are more than capable. In fact, the board should POST successfully with just one installed.

You are very tricky but do they provide power to a z790 f wifi ii with a 14900k. They can be installed but i cant get it to work so im praying someone can confirm this So I know when to be excites about cable mods shipping the right cables. Quicker to just get a new psu any ideas on how to guarantee getting this thing running its all together just won't boot so far

Anyone know how to torque a mobo? Complete pc I'm trying to think of anything that it takes to get it to boot is there a certain way to install the motherboard. Had barebones kits that wouldn't boot even if 1 mobo screw was slightly taken out any ideas if the new motherboards u just screw them in?

If you've installed the two ESP12v correctly, which QLED remains lit when the system refuses to POST?
