Asus Z790 Apex aka BendPex - poor quality at a premium price...

So... Here is my Apex :))
96966
Compared to others on the net that I have seen, the curvature is really small for me. It seems that Asus's Quality is a really now, I think Asus doesn't care about it anymore or there are no ppl doing this there. The bending is quite serious now, here some other examples:
96967
96968
some can run them w/o problems until a certain frequency or at all not even booting if both slots are populated, but even the ram is working (eventually), the VGA can sit like this =))
96969
I think as well that these are made on a ship on knees, no need for factories anymore, can be manufactured while shipping =))

The Z790 Apex that don't work well, they throw those overboard - before arriving to port. 🙂

So you're good kvarq bro! 😛

I believe that massive heatsink can cause some flexing. The board should be fully supported and anchored to standoffs at all the mounting holes. When it's installed into a case is it straight?

Some flexing with large VRM heatsinks is to be expected. Unless there is an issue with the board in operation I would not be concerned.

Did yours include a manual, sata cables and the true voltitian ?

I do miss them and don`t know how to get them.

yeah, I know, no manual, no stickers etc the good old times are gone - a complete rip-off for 900Eur :))
just the board itself, some stuff for M.2 drives and some kind of counter toy, couldn't figure out where / how to use it... don't throw that stuff randomly because it's metallic and break your things in the house :))

seriously now I don't like the bending...

Hello kvarq,

No manual?

Did you purchase your ROG Maximus Z90 Apex new and from where?

No manual, just the stuff I mentioned above, it is purchased from a German online store.
Manufactured Nov 2022.

Even the online version became available really late, so probably it was not ready.
They say that everything is online now... but that's quite annoying when you're trying to build a computer and don't have at least a map of the board or something, or to find out why that damn thing is not booting and what's the bloody 7F code stands for =))

It looks as though your case has standoffs that are mounted only at the corners of the motherboard.

Are there any more case standoffs to add/use? This would greatly help straighten it out.
