ASUS Z790-A WIFI + 7200 G.SKILL TRIDENTZ NOT WORKING HELP

Alexisthli
Level 8

I tried several parameters that I found through GPT chat, they were surely very bad, I couldn't get my RAM to work in 2 modules at more than 4800, terrible, what is the default? I have 4 of 7200 but I'm trying to increase the speed with only 2 modules, I haven't been able to. Please, if someone could help me or already has parameters, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Ok,

Restarting while playing a game could be a sign of instability.

An easy thing to try is:

In the bios on the AI Tweaker page, scroll down to Dram Timing Control and click it.

At the top of the Dram Timing Control page are the primary timings.

They should look like this:

34

45

45

115

Command Rate = Auto or 2N

Change the first primary timing to 36 so it looks like this:

36

45

45

115

Command Rate = Auto or 2N

Hit F10 and Enter to save and exit.

Try your game.

Certainly, you can try a lower frequency.

There are 3 ways you can go about memory stability.

1) Lower the frequency as you suggested.

2) Loosen the primary timing(s).

3) Manually tune the voltages to try and keep the rated specs.

Hello Alexisthli

Is your memory on the ASUS QVL?

Make sure your memory is properly paired. Pairing a stick from one memory kit to the other will cause issues. You can usually pair them up going by the serial numbers.

With your pc shut down and power supply cable unplugged, install one memory kit in the A2-B2 slots (2nd & 4th slot from the cpu). Press and hold the clear cmos button for 3 seconds then try booting up.

If a successful boot, reboot and try XMP II.

On a side note, the cpu's memory controller plays a big role in memory stability. The i9's generally have a stronger memory controller than the i5's, i7's.

Thanks for answering, I made the pairing but in a1 and b1 when I tried it in a2 I got a black screen, I'm going to try it again.

I have an i7 14700kf

Try one stick in the A2 slot, clear the cmos then try booting up.

I think it started with XMP II, I don't know if I'm wrong.

So I only have one 7200 module in A2. Can I put the next one in B2 and do the same procedure?

I don't know if I can do all 4 modules.

Looking good so far.

Shut down your pc, turn off the power supply and install the second stick in the B2 slot (4th slot from the cpu).

Try booting up.

The second module is working too!!! A2 B2. Incredible!!!

I don't know if I can add more modules, I have 4 of 7200 in total, but I've already reached this point, I know how it works, thank you very much Nate for your help.

Great !

Do you have windows installed?

If yes, install HWinfo and post a screenshot of the Sensors tab. Under Installer click Free Download. - Free Download HWiNFO Sofware | Installer & Portable for Windows, DOS

It will look like this. HWinfo shows the memory at half speed. For instance, I'm running at 6200MHz, HWinfo shows the Memory Clock at 3100MHz.

For 7200MHz, yours should show 3600MHz.

Click the pic to make it bigger.

Ready, yes, confirmed they are at 3600, please advise on how to install the other 2 RAMs, should I proceed with 1 module at a time or both together?

Nice !

Looks like your memory is running at 7200MHz.

If you install any other memory stick, you will have problems with stability and will have to settle for a much lower frequency.

I would not recommend installing the other memory kit.
