Asus Z690 Extreme, RTX4090 boot loop

Hi all,
I have a Corsair HX1200i and an MSI Suprim X RTX 4090.

PC works well until I have no nvidia driver, as soon as I install nvidia driver the PC reboots abruptly,
then windows starts, shows the desktop and reboot, this happen in a loop.

If I uninstall nvidia drivers PC works well.

If I rollback to an RTX2080Ti I don't have this problem.

Can it be some compatibility problem with the Z690 Extreme?

This is a strange issue maybe it's related to the Extreme boards.

I installed my 4090 I received on Thursday by first making sure Windows 11 manufacturer driver installer was disabled then rebooted to safe mode and ran DDU with the option clean and shutdown and then install the GPU and the latest available 522.25 drivers from Nvidia's website and it has been rock solid since for 2 days here and I am only running it on a Seasonic Focus Gold 850W PSU so I don't think it's a the PSU issue sounds like something else, Hope you get it sorted.

This is no fix but I have been able to run a few games cosistently doing this.

At boot (if you have time) go straight to device manger and uninstall 4090 but DON'T delete the driver.
Then let the system redetect or scan yourself for new hardware.
Mine then works and temps and so on are again displayed on NZXT cooler.
Have been able to play a few games so far but don't think it's a fix in particular.

Hope this helps for now.

This does not help for me. Tried it. It doesn't reboot automatically that way but every 3d app or games crashes

Guess we have to wait for updates. What a waste of the weekend.

If it's an Asus problem, be prepared to wait months without any feedback from their counterparts

I have managed JUST to squeeze into the above PCI slot and it's working fine. Rubbish airflow but it's working.

Is there someone from Asus that can comment on this please?

Note that in the video I posted that Jay is using different hardware yet has similar issues. I’m thinking a common thread might emerge to give everyone an idea about what’s going on.
