Hello Stittyuk

Kernel 41 in Event Viewer means your pc shut down unexpectedly.

This can be due to a number of things, anything from system instability, corrupted drivers, a failing power supply or you pressed the power button to shut down your pc.

Does your power supply meet the requirements for your RTX 4090?

Do you get Kernel 41 with the bios at default settings?

Hi mate I have a 1000watt gold rated ASU’s psu and I have set all intel spec settings for cache and power limits after crash I checked it using sfc scannow now and dism and no errors found and then games on it without another crash for the rest of the night any ideas as event viewer doesn’t give u much information I am also running most upto date bios and gpu driver

1000w is plenty of power, should be good with that.

If it happens when only playing games, this could be a sign of instability or a power issue.

I would try with the bios at default settings, including the memory (No XMP), then test your games for a while.

In the bios, hit the F5 key to reset to defaults.

Is your memory installed in the correct slots? Two sticks would go in the A2-B2 slots (2nd and 4th slots from the cpu).

Is your PSU set to Multi-Rail or Single-Rail?

I suggest Single Rail, it is possible, if set to Multi-Rail, that one of the rails is experiencing over-current protection, thus shutting down your PC when gaming.

This may explain the code you are seeing.

It doesn’t complete shut down I can still hear sound mate just no video how would I go about setting it to single rail?

Just checked my psu specs online and it states that it is single rail on the 12v lines

Hi @Stittyuk

1. Does the display lose signal or is it simply a black screen?

2. After met with loss of video, does the system crash or reboot if left for 15-30 seconds?

3. If using a riser cable, connect the GPU directly to the PCIE slot.

4. If using XMP, clear the CMOS and retest at complete Optimised Defaults.

Thanks silent scone I remember upu helping me last time buddy I appreciate it. The screen just goes black and I can hear the sound it’s done it in the past also with xmp disabled it’s very strange because done it other day first time in months then in gamed on it for three hours after no issues after rebooting all bios settings are set to intel spec such as power limits etc only thing I have enabled now is xmp could I send you logs or would they not tell you any information?

Windows logs aren't likely to tell you anything more than code 41 as Nate has alluded to already.

If it's the first time in months, I would just monitor the situation.
