Rollback Z690 Hero

Yo ya he logrado regresar el BIOS de 2305 a 2204 en una Z690 Hero. También creo es posible en la Z690-F

Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboard - Intel i9-13900K - Asus Thor 1200p - Kingston Fury 128GB (4x 32GB) DDR5 4200MT/s (Trying to run 128GB at 5600MT/s) - 3x Firecuda 530 NVMe SSD 1TB - WD Black SN850 NVMe SSD 2TB - ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4080 - Windows 11 Pro x64

2305 still working OK for me, but I tried to downgrade to 2204 out of interest because other had said they couldn't. I couldn't do it either, at least not using EZ Flash. I didn't try the flashback port.

Z690 Hero, BIOS 3401, MEI 2345.5.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.30.2361, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, i9 12900K, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Whats your mobo model? I have ROG Strix Z690-A D4 and EZ Flash worked fine for me to roll back to 2204.

From what I am seeing it looks looks like ddr4 MBs let you rollback and ddr5 do not. I have a z690 strix d4 and can rollback.

I upgraded from 2204 to 2305 on a Z690-F yesterday, and so far it's been fine.  I had no problems with 2204 and so far haven't had any problems with the new 2305 either.  Everything seems to be working as it should be. 🙂

Have a Good One! 😎

My personal advice: Do not update to 2305 if you plan to use 4 Sticks of RAM.
😣With the upgrade from 2204 to 2305 my computer broke 😭.

I have not been able to run my 4 sticks of 64GB RAM at 5600MT/s with XMP profiles on the Hero Z690.

With BIOS 2204 I managed to run the 128GB of RAM at only 4800MT/s, but now that I upgrade to 2305, with the hope of being able to reach at least 5200MT/s, I find myself with the surprise that I CANNOT USE 128GB of RAM, even without XMP profile (as I used to do with the previous bios). The boot time seems endless, windows takes too long to load, when windows loads there is no toolbar, there are random blue screens, the pc randomly freezes, that is, everything is screwed.

2305 just broke everything. The saddest thing is that there is no way to rollback. I don't know what to do.
At the moment it only remains to wait for a new BIOS version that at least allows me to use my 4 sticks natively without XMP profiles.

My temporary solution: Remove 2 sticks from the motherboard to only work with 2x32GB (what a waste of 64GB of RAM).

Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboard - Intel i9-13900K - Asus Thor 1200p - Kingston Fury 128GB (4x 32GB) DDR5 4200MT/s (Trying to run 128GB at 5600MT/s) - 3x Firecuda 530 NVMe SSD 1TB - WD Black SN850 NVMe SSD 2TB - ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4080 - Windows 11 Pro x64

I hear ya, the boot time on my system is about 5 minutes, but once it boots its awesome even when running 4x32 ddr5 modules. when I use only 2x32 it boots at the normal speed, so for now I am only running with 64. sux !

With this updated Bios I can't use all 4 sticks of ram (regardless of speed). I can only use 2. So I only work with 64Gb (A waste).

Asus didn't mention Rollback isn't possible .. Asus devs/mods ? whats the status of this ?

We can get info only Rollback about bios 17XX that can't be downgraded ?

Flasback on Z690-F Gaming will not brick it ?
