Installed a ASUS ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFI into my new Pc.

no lan avaialble during windows install. Was able to get  driver installed and completed install.

installed all the latest bios and firmware as well as all the drivers from asus. wifi driver will not load. Tried deleting it, rescanning and deleting the driver. No luck.

Need help on how to proceed. I am at a loss. Just gives an error every time. lan driver works fine. But I don’t have an ethernet port handy. Have to move to another room for direct router plug in.

Go to the 'Downloads for Motherboards' section in this forum and download the correct wi-fi drivers released by MokiChU. They are official drivers, just more recent, but you will need to install them by updating the drivers in Device Manager.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 3701, MEI 2407.6.1.0, ME Firmware 16.1.32.2473, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Unfortunately that driver behaved the same way. Returned a code 43 this time (was a code 10 so that’s a change!)

Hmm, that's odd. Have you tried deleting the current wi-fi drivers with Driver Store Explorer? It's free and can be very useful. The maybe try installing again. Otherwise, try disabling wi-fi in BIOS (I think that option exists somewhere) reboot and then re-enable. My memory seems to think that has worked for some people in the past.

I have tried disabling and enabling the wifi in bios. I will the driver removal utility you suggested.

I even did a fresh OS install again.

No dice. I installed the driver after removing it from the basis package (I have tried the newer one from above earlier with no success). What’s odd is that windows detects it, installs the driver, flashes 3x and then yellow triangle.

Without going into BIOS myself, you could try turning off Bluetooth as well and the re-enable both. Not sure if it will help, but wi-fi and Bluetooth are both normally controlled by the same chip. If that doesn't help, try Asus support in your country, perhaps the board is faulty - I've never experienced a problem like yours...

Clearly something is wrong with the hardware.  I tried the latest beta bios, did the enable/disable, deleted drivers, used intel’s latest drivers , etc. and etc.

Asus support was not helpful either. Probably becauseww it’s defective. I ordered a different motherboard and will swap them out tonight and return this asus one.

Sounds like a bad voltage regulating somewhere, not worth wasting your time trying to figure it out. Wifi should install and run plug&play. All these mini-itx boards are trash in many ways because of the cramped parts. Bad design is a must considering they release 15 versions of the same mobo, every mobo manufacturer, clearly they don`t know what works or will and as such the aim is quantity over quality. Don`t waste your time.
