Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO MemTest Errors

Hello,

I need a help Please, I have followed the Supported RAM @ QVL and got :

Ram: CMP96GX5M4B6000C30 (Ver 5.53.13 4x 24GB)

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900KF

GPU: Nvidia RTX 4090 Asus Rog Strix

Disk: Samsung 990 Pro M.2 2T

OS: Fresh Windows 10 Pro 22H2 for workstation Fresh and fully updated/Activated.

With XMP 1 6000MTs Speed MemTest gave me huge list of errors @ Pass1, I downgraded to 5600 MTS and Passed Pass1, Test is still running But I got already 2 Errors at Pass2 @ "Test 8 Random number sequence" :

Addr: 396AE8A70 expected: 705DDAF1 actual: 715DDAF1 cpu: 0

Addr: F78874040 expected: 4B441F56 Actual: 4A441F56 cpu: 0

Can some expert please help me? Not sure If I'm going to get more errors.... but in the QVL it says Supported  speed 6000 but seems wrong info.

I already was using CMH64GX5M2B6000C30 4x31.8GB and changed it because I seen its not supported @ QVL Then Today I got a supported RAM Kit, but seems I'm still having issues!!

I started these tests because I'm getting random crashes while gaming!

Not sure If will be more errors @ this MemTest86...

Thanks.

Hello,

Managed to fix it by activating XMP 1 and manually did the following , downgraded the RAM to 5600 MTs, BCLK Frequency: Dram Ratio - 100:100, Memory Controller: Dram Frequency Ratio - 1:2, Dram VDD voltage - 1.40v, Dram VDDQ voltage - 1.40v,  CPU System Agent voltage - 1.275v, @ Advanced voltages : IVR Transmitter VDDQ voltage - 1.40v, Memory Controller voltage - 1.40v., Actual VRM Core Voltage to Offset Mode , Offset Mode Sign is - and CPU Core voltage offset is 0.1500v.

With these settings the system works well and Passed MemTest86 4 stages with no single Error.

Regards,

Hi @Randoms
Stabilising that density at 6000MT/s may require some manual tuning depending on the CPU strength.

However, firstly;

1. Update UEFI to 3001

2. Test DRAM Stability at Optimised Defaults

3. If using a third-party CPU Contact Frame (such as Thermal Grizzly or Thermaltake), remove and reinstall the stock retention mechanism.

4. Reseat the CPU, ensure for consistent mounting pressure and torque as per the cooling vendors guidelines.

5. Reattempt applying XMP 1 and test stabiltiy.
