Asus ROG Apex Encore - d6 issue

Hello,

today after work my system showed me -d6- during boot and i had no picture on the screen.

so i did:

  1. remove and install gpu again
  2. tried second gpu
  3. tried third gpu
  4. tried second x16 slot with gpu 1 --> 2 --> 3
  5. CMOS reset button on I/O shield
  6. GPU 1-2-3 both slots
  7. switched back to GPU 1 reseted cmos again
  8. voila boot

.....?.....

what i experienced before a couple of days was, that my GPU sometimes is show in GPU-Z as PCIe x16 4.0 @ x8 4.0 but after a reboot everything is fine... could that be a faulty board? my AsRock board and my Strix Z790-H Gaming never had that behavior with same CPU and same GPU...

regards

if it happens again  without you tampering with your hardware .id say its a faulty board. but another thing it might be is a corrupted or bugged bios. i would update the bios just to make sure if you havent already.

I think I found the issue... And it is BECAM (between chair and machine)

Probably i was to lazy last time i changed something on my system, the pins of my graphic card were dirty/slightly corroded... maybe i was to sweaty 😶

cleaned the pins and socket, lets see what will happen in the next days/weeks/months
