Good day to the community, with my heartiest wishes for a prosperous and happy new year.
My question is simple and it is described at the title of this thread: "Does a Prime Z790-A WIFI support the Intel 14th generation CPUs?"
By entering Asus website section, refering to Z790/B760 Motherboards, someone can read:
"ASUS and ROG Z790, B760 motherboards promise full support for 14th Gen, 13th Gen and 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors, with even higher clock speeds, more cores and support for faster DDR5 memory than ever before. The ROG, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Prime and ProArt series are prepared for this onslaught with enhanced performance tuning, cooling, power delivery, connectivity, and ease of installation."
On the other hand, when entering the specific M/B section, it DOES NOT mention anything about 14th generation. Instead, the following is mentioned:
- Intel® LGA 1700 socket: Ready for 12th and 13th Gen Intel® processors.
Consequently, if someone looks in the "CPU support" page, all 14th generation CPUs are there!
Does supporting of 14th generation depend on a newer BIOS? And if yes, is the newest v. 1604 the appropriate one for it?
Thanks in advance for your time!

Yes, as far as I know, all LGA1700 motherboards support 14th Gen (with the right BIOS).
On that motherboard, BIOS 1205 introduced that support, now on 1604.
