Asus Maximus Z790 Hero AIDA64 Extreme (Free One Year Sub license)

Hello Everyone,
It's been a long time since I posted on the forums so first, let me say hello to you all.

I purchased an Asus Maximus Z790 Hero and finally got it up and running with an  intel i9 13900KS and RTX4090 TUF Gaming OC. Everything is stable so I'm starting my burn in process.

Asus is advertising a free 1-year sub for AIDA64 Extreme. I am unable to locate the product key for it. Any advice on getting the key? Several forum searches have not gotten me much closer to getting the key.

I have read that I need to install the Asus Armoury Crate software to get the key, is this true? If this is true, is it possible to get the key without Armoury Crate?

On another note, Is anyone seeing any stability or performance issues while using the Armoury Crate? I try to avoid installing software packs. More often then not, there will be issues.

Thanks in advanced...

Hello,

The code needs to be redeemed from Armoury Crate. You can always uninstall it once it's been redeemed if you desire using the uninstall tool from the support page.

I still have Crate installed and experience no problems. It's really useful for 2 things 1) Managing RGB/fan control of the mobo and other devices and 2) letting you see what drivers you have installed.

If you really want good RGB control, then you might find OpenRGB to be better. The paid for version  does fans as well, but the free version is very good for RGB. The driver monitoring can be handy, but I update drivers myself now using MoKiChU's threads in this forum.

A lot of people do have problems with Crate though, so it might be best avoided. I don't know about the AIDA licence, but if you get an answer, please let us know.
