Asus Maximus z690 + i9-1490KF random shutdown while playing games.

Hello,
Brand new PC with Asus Maximus z690 + i9-1490KF completely turns off while playing World of Warcraft and SWTOR.
Holds for a few minutes and turns off. I constantly monitor the temperature and it does not rise more than 83 degrees when playing with many people. The normal temperature is 55-75 degrees when playing without a large group.
I had no problems with the previous PC.
Asus Rampage Vi Extreme which was only with 12 cores.
I have set the processor to work at 5400 MHz from 5700 (default).
Can anyone help please?

G.Skill Trident Neo - DDR5 - 6400 Mgz

Asus RTX 3090

All components are brand new.

I tested the processor with Cinebench and it didn't show any problems,
I tested the card with Heaven too without any problems.

have you looked in windows event viewer to see what error code made the computer crash?

That event viewer code will usually pinpoint the to the issue.

from what you say in your post with cpu not being a problem but only when you play games means either you connected your GPU wrong or something and cannot handle graphic intensive loads.

underclocking your cpu is not going to do anything if that is not the problem.

by the way, 1.4v+ is completely normal for these CPUs as they have very high boost clocks.

that score is low for a 14900kf.

as i said in my other comment. I do not believe you have an issue with your cpu but just your GPU.

Hi @Kvakunoff

A complete system shutdown would normally indicate a temperature or over-current tripping point.

Are you monitoring both the CPU and GPU temperatures?

Yes i do.

I will try now with ntel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTu)
On the speed of 5300Ghz

I just installed it, will try to see how it works.

Will post if any results.

Btw, in every test the pc do not shut down even when CPU is at 100C i does only when i play games.

With benchmark i see always Power Limit Throttling in red and Current/EDP Limit Trottling for a few seconds

World Of Warcraft worked 2 minutes and CPU never got more than 66c and it shut down.

CPU voltage goes to 1.40+ for some reason

Hello,

Is your board running the latest BIOS? If not go for the current one as it includes a newer microcode update for the CPU, 0x12F, solves a few issues with voltage spikes and unsafe levels when it's boosting high.

You mention setting the CPU to 5400/5300?, what impact did this have on the issue?

Thank you for the replay,

I am with the latest bios, but instead of Etreme i set it to preformance.

Then i set the cores to 53. Voltage is still 1.3+ to 1.4+

i just installed fresh win 11, will test the games after the install.

Windows fresh with all stock drivers also fresh install.

I dont think that will fix the problem.

Again after 5 min of play WoW the PC shutdown again.

Test it with cinebench23 even at 99c does not crash. I did not run it more than manite i am afraid i can burn the cpu.

The CPU pass all the tests.

Its safe to enable X.M.P ?

I keep it off, my memory work at 4300 instead of 6400.

I dont want to damage my motherboard or fry the cpu.

My card is Asus strix rtx 3090. But i havent change thermal paste ever before.

But the card only does high load 78% the card temp was like 60c.

Tomorrow will clean the card + new thermal paste and try again.

This is benck from the cput btw.
