Are they compatible? One has 3 pins the other has 4 is this a major problem?

no problem. On the pump there 3 pin plug (1 wire) that is the sense wire. you plug that to the PWM cpu heather and done. There is more but if you use the icue and control fans there that is good to go.! Enjoy!
