Apex Encore Z790 CPU Wattage issue

Hi!

I have strange CPU power consumption readings  in all monitoring applications. Under full load (with MCE disabled/Intel extreme profile) the readings float in the range of 220-300 watts intead of stable 253 cap. In this case, the average value is correct - 253 watts. The remaining monitoring values are correct, the frequencies are stable. Performance as expected.
The problem occurs on all BIOS versions. Currently flashing BIOS 1301.
Resetting the BIOS and windows fresh install doesn't help either.
PC was completely rebuilt, everything was assembled correctly.

Any ideas how to fix this? And in general, are there any risks for the PC?

PC specs: i9-14900k, Apex Encore, 2x24 7600mhz cl 36, RTX 4090 Suprim, PSU msi mpg a1000g, w11 23h2.

Use HWINFO to check under Intel's telemetry.

OCCT seems to be showing inaccuracies for me also. Please note that the software measurement is subject to a certain amount of deviation due to transients and can misrepresent the true maximum value.

14900K / APEX Encore / UEFI 1301 Intel Default / Extreme Profile
Cinebench CR20 used to report max package draw.

you might have a defective board honestly. I do not have this issue and I have an apex encore.

whats also really  weird to me is the fact that your pulling 300 watts and only at 4.6ghz. that seems extremely low speed for the amount of power its using.

interesting. might be just a 14th gen issue. i do not have that issue with a 13900k.
