Looking to buy a new Z790 motherboard that will hopefully last for a few years and take newer gen5 video cards and gen5 m2 drives. The only thing of issue is the confusing Gen5 support.
Some 'claim' they support TWO Gen5 pci slots whereas some state ONE pci slot and ONE M2 slot. Yet delving a little deeper there's also talk of say a new Gen5 video card in the first slot means the second pci or m2 slot WON'T run at full Gen5 !?. Another only offers gen5 M2 via an add on board in a GEN4 pci slot ??? (then what happens to your gen5 video card ?)
What's the score here ?. Will any of the Z790 boards support a gen5 video card AND M2 drive simultaneously ??
