Last BIOS update was three months ago and curious if ASUS is planning to release a BIOS update for Z790. I have the z790-E board running on BIOS 0904.

BIOS 1202 and new ME 2167 would be your update.
First update the Intel ME to version 16.1.27.2167 : https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/intel-700-600-series/firmware-intel-me-b660-h670-z690-b760-h770-z790/t...
Then load default settings, update BIOS to 1202 : https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-e-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_bios/
I have Z790 Apex, and they dropped 1203 for my board yesterday, the new BIOS & ME are solid. 👍

a beta bios was being tested on users feedback. i think will be 1203. they deploy one 5h ago. and will be rolling to other board eventually. once that is push you need to use that bios and update the fw firmware and driver.

1202 is the update for OPs motherboard.
1203 is only available on select SKUs.

Updated about 15 minutes ago to bios 1203 on my ProArt Z790 Creator Wifi board with an i9-13900k. No dramas so far, will report back if any gremlins appear.
I had major issues trying to get 0904 to work. Bios installed but PC had a host of BSODs. It was almost certainly faulty ram.
