Ai OC + XMP Can you run both?

My Z790 Hero runs great with Ai OC or XMP enabled. My computer will boot with both enabled however quickly freezes. Should the both work at the same time?

In short, yes you can. AI OC overclocks the core domains, whilst XMP is memory overclocking.

However, you need to establish stability with both independently. Follow the guidelines within the UEFI for AI OC and establish stability prior to enabling memory overclocking.

Thank you. I did establish stability independently. No issues. Only when both are enabled do I have issues.

that means either xmp is unstable or the cpu oc is unstable.

Or both. Individually, they are stable. The is the problem. I don’t know enough about PC tuning to fix the problem. I know how to setup Ai OC and XMP. I do these independently and run stress tests, no problem. Just looks for someone to teach me to fish.

if individually they are stable then id say that you have to fine tune the cpu oc voltage as the cpu oc is what is making xmp unstable.
