Hello everyone. I need your help.
I bought a new ROG STRIX Z790-H GAMING WIFI + Intel I7-14700K. However, I have very high temperatures. If I just open the internet browser, the level goes up to 90 degrees and then drops again a bit. I have seen many videos about undervolting, but none of them have helped so far because I don't really understand how to set it up.
I have a Thermaltake View 270 TG Case and each box filled with fan. And i have a Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 CPU Cooler.
I tried these settings (photos attached). and about XTU I am from Performance Ratio from 55x to 51x and Efficient Core Ratio from 43x to 42x and Core Voltage Offset -0.050V. Unfortunately I don't see any major improvement.
I see a lot of information here in the forum but I don't know where these settings are in the BIOS.
Would someone be willing to help me and tell me where and what exactly I need to change?

I don't have a 14700K, but your temperatures do seem high. I can't advise on the best settings, but it might be worth checking the mount of your cooler. Just in case, was there a plastic film on the cooler plate that wasn't removed? Probably worth a check and also apply fresh thermal paste and make sure that the cooler plate has been tightened evenly all around the CPU. No need to go over-tight, but it should be nice and snug.
In the meantime, hopefully somebody can give you some settings to try.

Thanks for your reply. The foil has been removed and the CPU cooler is correctly installed including the LF3 contact frame. I use the thermal paste Grizzly Kryonaut.
I really hope that someone can help me with this.

OK, I thought you should have it covered, but some people miss these things 👍

Hi,
I've was facing exacly the same problem as You - check my post on this forum (same motherboard, cpu and cooler) https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/intel-700-600-series/z790-h-i7-14700kf-luiqid-freezer-3-360-throtling-...
You can use my settings to undervolt this cpu and for me this allow to use it without any problems. Just read what i've posted there and do the same 🙂

Thank you so much, Pix2186PL! 🙂
I will try your Settings tonight and give a feedback.

I tested it and used exactly these settings. With R23 it takes less than 10 seconds and it rises above 100 degrees.
You have the same hardware, why does it work so well for you?

The main reason why Your CPU got that hight temps so quick is becouse of Core VIDs value - that is why we add undervolt in order to lover it and allow cpu to work in lower temps. Please share screen with registered Core VIDs so i can see if its below 1.4V or more.
Additionaly You can check in HWinfo if You add undervolt correcly becouse You will see it here:
"Voltage offsets" schould be the same for You. Don't use Intel Extreme Tuning Utylity to add offset becouse it didn't work for me (better add it direcly in bios). Additionally as i posted in that previous post i didnt chave that much of different in temps when going for example from no undervolt to 0,75. After hitting 0,100 i finally see any progress. And second very important is to change that svid behavior to "worst case" scenario.
Remmember to do bios update to lates version 2801 and then add values like me:
1) enable xmp I
2) CPU Core/Cache Current Limit Max "307"
3) Long Duration Package Power Limit "253"
4) Short Duration Package Power Limit "253"
5) set svid behavior to "worst case" scenario
6) Global Core SVID Voltage to "Adaptive Mode"
7) offset mode sing to "-"
8 ) offset voltage to "0.1100"
Note that if You leave svid behavior to "auto" even if You add - 0,170 offset it wont make any differense so i'm gues that is the problem for You

Thank you so much for your help!
I dont use XTU, the settings are directly in the bios. I already have BIOS version 2801.
I attached some Pictures. What else could I adjust?

Here is my full bios settings in txt (it can be exported direcly from bios and i did that before last update) - You can compare everything and if its still not gonna help then i would re-attach cooling (i did it like 2 times before initial instalation and changes connection of fans since oryginaly i was using the one cable to controll all fans but ended with that 3 separate). Mayby physical connection cpu-cooler is the issiue.
