What are the safe voltage for the 12900k? Bios I set max 1.375 ok or is that going to kill the CPU in 3 months

Thanks to the method of die sense, software reading are wholly more accurate compared to some older platforms using socket sense.

Here is the CPU voltage reading from ROG Voltician when running CR20 with LLC4. As seen in the USB Osc overlay, we can see the maximum reported voltage is 1.34v. This matches our peak value during the same run of 1.341v in Hwinfo as reported by the onboard sensor array. However, the Voltician may pick up fast transient spikes that the sensor array cannot read.

During this same period, the peak requested VID was 1.479v.

Odd, using adaptive and my benchmarking scores seem to decrease a lot and temps didn’t really change

A 1.375 manual, XTU - 9800 or so, Cinbench 28kish, 21k 3dmark etc

Adaptive, 9100 xtu, cinebench 27k and 18k 3dmark *

Maybe due to thermal throttling kicking in?

Thats the oddity though isn't it, manual 1.375, monitoring Intel XTU, no thermal throttling and no other limits applied

Adaptative, Thermal kicks in within 1/2 seconds

Manual 1.4, I hit 80-84 in cine and XTU the same with the 5.5GHz OC and a 1.375 limit (5.2 on all cores when all cores active)

3Dmark doesnt even make it passed 50

Hello,

The reported VID has been fixed (among a few other changes) in the latest batch of BIOS released publically by Shamino.
