I’m tryin to help my friend fix his pc. i have super basic knowledge and need some solutions. About a week ago he restarted his pc and i guess some windows files got corrupted, it says “performing automatic repair” but just black screens after 30 seconds indefinitely. I tried replacing the cmos battery, unplugging the sata cables from the motherboard and nothing has prevailed. BIOS does not recognize either of the hard drives as bootable devices. Does he need a new motherboard? Could i get a usb copy of windows, boot from that and repair his hard drives? Any other suggestions or questions would be helpful
